55" dumas scarab electric conversion options

Looking to convert to electric.
Would realy like to go jey drive but not going to spend 900$ just on the drive.
Does anyone know of an econamical single or dual jet drive that would work for my scarab?

I may be getting a 54" Arapaho, I have a spare Castle 2028 motor, that's what I'd recommend, 2028, 10s2p lipo and an x460

Anyone know anythiing about this?????

Graupner Jet Propulsion Unit 5 (2347)
The new JET propulsion unit is ideal for internal combustion engines, as thrust reversal is obtained by operating the reversing flap rather than by reversing the direction of rotation of the engine. The steering nozzle incorporates an integral cooling water nipple. Suitable power plants are internal combustion engines of 15 to 30 cc capacity, and electric motors rated at a minimum of 700 Watts output power.

Length approx. 285mm.Width approx. 78mm,
Height approx. 85mm, Impeller 49mm
Part No: G2347

One of those won't move that hull very fast, but a pair of them might do it.

Straight up is all I ask
Kehrer has some that are cheaper but turn with little rudders instead of using a gimball

Hey guys im a dip*hit I forgot its a 47" version of the scarab 55.

Anyway now I have sorted that out.
What would you recomend for the powertrain?
I dont want to break the bank on this one but am looking for a fair amount of speed. The converted homelite is just not doing it. Want to go brushless.
I dont mind the HK stuff if it will do the job.
Oh and Im giving up on jet drive.

I have a 45" Dumas Scarab FG hull from the mid eighties. I originally ran twin EP1 outboards with brushless motors.........early in my RC boating career, and it just wasnt a real sound, long term setup........found an OLD vid of it below. It now has a Neu 1527 1250kv that i run on 6s2p............hits 40 even, and runs cool as a cucumber with a T180 ESC.

But, on to your boat!

You can run a Top-power 5692, a 4 pole Leopard clone at half the price, and a T180 ESC on 6s with a conservative range prop and get some decent "scale" speed......high 30's, low 40's, maybe an x448/x450. If you went with an HV ESC you could go 8s for some more speed. I'm posting an inexpensive setup.

Motor: http://toyabipro.com/product_340.html

Old vid of my original twin OB setup, COG wrong:

Dumas 45" Scarab 45 Twin outboard (1 min 2 sec)

Vid with the single drive, Neu 1527 6s2p, I like the "scale" speed of it:

Dumas 45" Scarab on 6s with a 1527 Neu (1 min 50 sec)
