I turn off all stabilization features when I to do aerobatics. (See my post at https://ibm.biz/BdxYKp)

In my opinion, trying to fly acrobatically with stabilization features on results in a very unnatural feel to the quad: for fast forward flight, turning, and certainly doesn't work for loops flips and rolls.

The primary challenge I've had is with maintaining orientation when doing aerobatics.

One last comment. The simulator is your friend. It's not nearly as much fun as real world flying but it can improve your skills greatly without incurring the cost and inconvenience of crashes. I use the Phoenix flight simulator. It includes a quad in its lineup of aircraft.

Well, I got my new carbon fiber legs, I went and just replaced all of them and put the shocks on them as planned. Maybe it will help with the occasional hard landings!? I also like the added extra height! Here's a couple of pics:

They look like they are straight up & down in the pics but they are at an angle.

Here is a couple more pics with a little better angle to get an idea what I did. I used rubber tubing at the top for center spacing and just the rubber washers on bottom for its spacing.

Those shocks look sweet =)

Can anyone tell me (as Ive been to the hardware store twice now), what size nylocks I need for the standard black motors on the 450? I have tried 5mm and 6mm. 5 seems too tight and 6 is way loose.

Thanks

**EDIT** it is the 5mm ones, I was just being too cautious with my new machine!

After all, its still got that new quad smell!

Just for anyones info be it may.
I just weighed the quad just a min ago to see what type of weight the shocks & rubber top spacers added.
I quoted my entry about the last time I weighed it, it has the 6000mah lipo like before but with added shocks & spacers.
Prior to shocks with the 6000mah lipo it weighed a whopping 48.48oz approx.
with the additions it came to 50.79oz, an extra 2.31oz! That ain't bad, I can always put a smaller lipo on so that's no biggie! 3.17 lb 4 bladed mower! look out!
Really though I am a very cautious flyer, never attempting anything beyond my scope (purposefully) around people or property!

controllers

Has anyone used either of these? I have them but know very little about them except that you can control lights and want not with them. I was thinking of using one to control lights on my quad. I have no clue in how to set them up besides plugging them into an open slot on the RX. Does anyone know what to do with the TX for either of these?
I know the names of them, the big one is a "Multi-function stepping remote switch for 7 devices" and the smaller one is a "RX control switch"
I'd appreciate any info on them.
Thanks!
