I played around with the Paris V2 board some more, the auto-level calibration LED does actually stop blinking it just takes a long time. I didn't time it but would say about 20 seconds, and from what I remember the Quadrino board only takes a few seconds. I haven't flown it again since figuring this out, hopefully I will have a chance to do that tomorrow.

Rocket, I've been lucky and haven't broken too many props, but I still ordered 4 complete sets just to be sure I always had a couple spares!

Wander, auto-level won't really keep the quad from drifting, only a GPS can do that. What it should do is keep the quad stable and level even with stick input from you. It will go from flying responsively (like really digging in and leaning when you give it stick input) to flying a little more like a boat. And if you have everything really well trimmed and balanced, it shouldn't drift too much as long as there isn't any wind.

Thanks mattchase, that's very helpful. Likewise the MAG keeps the orientation somewhat "sticky" right?

Yup, with 1.7 it works ok but not great. They have improved the code and added a calibration method into the next version of the GUI that should make the mag even better, hopefully it will be released soon!

very cool. just curious, but is it even possible to add something like a GPS to the quadrino?

Hi Witespy,

You were right, the Acc indicator was off on the GUI when the transmitter was connected. I read somewhere that temperature variance can cause the gyro/accelerator to go nuts so I calibrated the gyro/accelerometer via the GUI before flying and it flew much more better. No jerkiness and it flew calm enough that I was able to get into Acc mode. I'm still not confident that I have it really trimmed perfectly but I think I'll be ok. So question, what are the pre-flight calibrations I should do before flying?

Try a security store. The local security store here have a dummy dome camera with the perfect dome, same as the one that came with my Witespy quad.

I hope so, because I saw the new MultiWii GUI have support for GPS readouts and settings. I am curious to know how close they are to implementing this.

I picked up a couple fake security cams off ebay, cheaper than harbor freight even. I seen smaller ones on there so make sure you get the one with 4 5/8" base.

This is the one I got. $5.50 free shipping
