I have started to prepare the block required for the canopy vaccuum forming.
The glass fibre moulding of the cabin area was suitably adapted with a packing block of foam to mask off the front end. The plaster mix will then be poured dirctly into the inside of the cabin moulding.
I had a minor disaster when the mould area sprung a leak during casting resulting in plaster mix all over my feet and the floor of my workshop. (What a mess to clear up) The result being that the casting is only just enough to cover the required area. I shall mount the block on a board to increase the depth and ensure satisfactory reproduction of the required area.

Very impressive workmanship. Should fly like a big low-wing trainer.

I have started on the wing tips and decided not to make them out of balsa but to carve in foam and cover in glass cloth.

We made the required supports to fit the Cherokee into our trailer and took it to Oaksea park to the European Luscombes annual rally to meet up with the full size Cherokee and its owner. We obtained some more detailed pictures of the full size for reference.
Doug and I had an hours flight in the fullsize and overflew our houses some 50miles from the take off point at Oaksea, What an experience, I had the pleasure of sitting in the front and twiddled the sticks for most of the time.
The full size is very smooth and very responsive to fly, I hope that I can build the model to fly in the same way.

Nice Keith,
You're going to need to get a bigger trailer or get rid of one if you don't stop building these nice birds.

Hi Gary
Very nice to hear from you.
The Cruiser is still flying beatifully and at Oaksea park at the weekend we set up a buddy lead and let several full size pilots fly her.
How is the full size?

Keith
