3View to 3D to 2d
I know that there's a lot of activity on Foamies section about Sketchup and actual model build using the Phlatprinter, but I'll post it here anyway as it has more to do with general (Balsa/Ply) models than Foamies.
I haven't seen many people doing first a 3D from a 3-view plan, then laying parts out in 2D for print or CNC machining. I know that kit builders are probably doing this already, but for the average Joe like me, it would be nice to have some files ready-to-machine shared. Here is what I did after wanting to build a nice Quad frame. Based on Opencopter and Hobbyking quad frame and laser cut in my garage. More to follow. Edit: SU ver.8 Model scaled for 3mm material.
