Man I don't know what's taking HK so long to ship my airframe! I ordered it over a week ago from the USA warehouse (in fact, I live 20 miles from it) thinking it would ship within 5 days. I check the status today and it still says "Processing". What the?

I contacted them and they said they would contact the US warehouse to get my order going. Not sure why they haven't moved on it.

I thought that was the whole purpose of ordering through the US warehouse so you don't have to wait weeks and weeks?

Of course my buddies would say "Look at it this way...Your airframe is that much farther away from it's first crash and repair job."

Aros, The HK SR-71 looks to be is the same as the one I got from NitroPlanes, which has crappy plastic landing gear. I'd replace them with better ones or beef it up. I beefed one up (the unbroken one) by wrapping it with a rectangular piece of aluminum soda can and epoxy it. Now, it's very strong.

Hi wsame, yes the HK is the same as the NP. I haven't used the gear in the last three airframes mainly because flying off pavement is extremely limited near where I live. Both the flying clubs I joined have bumpy grass fields. I'm going to use the Jetapult for this next airframe. No more hassling with hand tosses that eventually end in disaster for one reason or another.

The aluminum soda can gear mod sure sounds interesting...Have some pics you mind sharing?

So now HK says it is out of stock and won't be available for a month. Well that would have been, oh, I dunno, NICE TO KNOW when I made the order since it said IN STOCK!

Sorry for venting, I just am bewildered by how these distributors stay in business.

Aros, I've attached some pics of the aluminum coke can mod to stiffen cheap landing gear. On a hard landing, instead of breaking the plastic, the metal landing gear wire bent...so I'm satisfied...
