Sven,
It's nice to see you here There was a thread/ pic a few months back where a 450 cp heli was flown on the roof of a high rise. The outcome was not good! It's finally a bit warmer here today...52F. Going out with my Son to run the Storm Launchers and the first "official" running of the red hydrofoam. We'll see what happens. I don't think I will be taking it in the air...too windy. Jim |

Sunny but cool here, just above freezing. Nice for a drive out of town to my buddy's place and then a nice meal at a restaurant.

Beautifull day here. Sunny and warm. Slight breeze. All my batts are charged. Everything is ready to go. But, I have chores to catch up on. Dang it. Grass cutting season has snuck up on me. How can this be?

Took two Storm Launchers out. Was tooooo windy. They were having a hard time coping and kept sliding over the parking lot. They were really fast in one direction (with the wind) and really slow in the other direction (against the wind). It was funny to watch them. We could almost hover them in place. If we kept the wind at their side they would do a diagonal across the lot. Quite fun and challenging to control. The orange hydrofoam was muuuuch better with the wind and will definitely be a lot of fun in calmer conditions. The thing really zooms...it is FAST. I was really shocked/ pleased. My jaw was on the floor pretty much the entire time. I got about 8 mins of run time with it and that was just on the ground. Didn't want to risk anything and take it up in the air yet. I still have yet to connect the upper control surfaces. Will do that soon and should get even more control authority. I was at the dollar store a few weeks back and they had "flexible cutting boards". Basically it's thicker, flexi plastic that I will use for the skids when they wear out. I just need to figure out what type of glue to use. The glue that came with the hydro kit is all gone and C.A. will not work. Anyone know what type of glue to use to attach plastic to foam? Hope you all are having good weekend. Jim |

@Microbaba, i see why you went wrong.
You are to scared to hit something, and yes that is a "good scare". When the moment comes that she can be controled your are to close to something. Just go to a gym or something like that. A open field probably to,but more chance of windgushes. But don't be to scared................. My progres of today Don't mind the ugly spot, it's gone now It's about time to take her out |
