Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he will sit a boat and drink beer all day.

Fatsharks, way to go ...

After few months with HeadPlays, Fatshark finally arrived.

Build quality is obviously on HP side, quality of picture, versatility as they have VGA input, can read USB. But to be honest, 800x600 is just not enough to use it for anything else except FPV, and HPs are definitely not suited for it.
Liberator should actually be called anchor. Cable from liberator to goggles is too short and rigid so you have to stay very close to your ground station or drag that brick around with you. HPs are sensitive to power input, they tend to fry some fuses if you use it with 3s lipos so power it from one single GS battery is tricky.
If you have PAL equipment you have stay on some outdated 1.18r firmware and even that is not guarantee that they are not going to freeze on static.
Fatsharks came with 3m long cable
Very light comparing to HPs and easy to use. Just one flip of the switch and its on. You dont have to wait for liberator to boot up and go trough menu each time to get to rca input. You dont have to mod it to keep the lights out.
I was ignorant on so many suggestions on this forum not to go with HPs and i learned it the hard way.

Wow. Looks like it's said as it is. I think I'll relook those fatsharks. The sales pitch can be so deceiving. Thanks for the comment.

Huh...weird...
AAAHHHHHHH ZOMBIE THREAD!!!

What is this liberator cable? I'm pretrty handy with a soldering iron, is it something that could be extended? I like the bigger resolution and would be willing to put in a little work for a better picture...

hi guys

what do you want,s after a long day at work

sit,,,and fly fpv or sit and drink a beer

headplay liberator is a pain in the as,s

but the 800x600 is so great
you can,t see a pixel

whit a 640x480 video module,, you can count pixels ,when you fly back

I'm using the headplays but they are a PITA in a lot of ways lol. There are a number of nice adjustments to the image, focus, IPD, etc you can do and the image is very nice. I'm thinking of "downgrading" to fatsharks or DIY goggles with a fresnel just to be more portable and simple to use at the expense of video quality. I'm sure after a short time I wouldn't notice the drop in resolution much anyways. If I had to do it all over again I would likely go for the sharks (although at the time headplays were much cheaper too ;P).
