That's got to be the best pilot I've seen. Terrific expression. Brilliant.

Brent thank a bunch just ordered some props and an extra spinner .
Funny I tried to build a plane with extra parts and was excited about the cost until they added shipping lol , it was close to $400 hahah. I can get an LX P40 from China from F-Hobby 79" span plane for $60 in shipping but Hobby King is over $300 to the USA lol .
I admire them in many ways but shipping was never one of them.
After an hour of my gift card being rejected , a valid premium bank card being rejected I finall used good old Pay Pal and my order went thru.
Big Fan of Hobby King cost but not there business model and execution
Brent thanks again for provideing added value as always to this thread , its great to get the extra parts and I know I will be needing props

I have an impression that if the parts for an entire airplane, or the large ones at least, were ordered in separate shipments, the cost for shipping would go way down. I'd much prefer that they use regular cardboard boxes with just some bubble wrap or similar to protect the parts than that huge container that the entire airplane kit comes in. The most sensibly wrapped airplane I've gotten was the Flyzone Corsair that didn't have a speck of foam for the containment, just smartly secured with minimal box construction and some bubble wrap around the airframe. No damage whatsoever.

Really glad they've stepped up and now have a supply of the prop blades!!

It looks like they don't sell the kits out of the US warehouse and longer. Just when I was about ready to buy one. Oh, well.

There are only 4 showing in stock (silver) in the Intl. warehouse and 0 showing for the other. They've been gone from the U.S. warehouse for quite a while and are winding down on the 'unit' sales totally and only parts will be available by my estimation. It's extremely doubtful these versions will ever be seen again. There is hope for an issue of a V2 with new livery and upgrades but many doubts on that happening, all things considered.

Thanks for the info, gnats. I REALLY want a P-40, and I don't like the unscale looks of the FMS one, and the Durafly version coming out is too small. And the LX is more than I want to spend. So I guess I wait a while longer.

The P-40 is one of my all time favorites, and a true classic warbird. There is some excellent custom work of this plane in this thread. It has been a real treat to follow it, and I thank all of those who shared their fine work, notably the Aussies, among others.

Not to mention the Kiwis.
There it is. Tucked up safe and sound in the RNZAF Museum where it belongs. Not a 'real' RNZAF P40 but it sure looks the part ! You will NEVER see a better looking P40...EVER ! And no shark mouth. Naked in fact, which is great when trying to work out what they really look like up front.
Curtiss P-40E Kittyhawk (1 min 32 sec)

Harry Nilsson - Without Her (1971) (1 min 58 sec)

In 2013 after 16 years of restoration, the Air Force Museum of New Zealand rolled out its refreshed P-40E Kittyhawk. It started out as a USAAF P-40F serving in the Pacific Theatre of World War II, until crash landing in Vanuatu where it lay until being recovered in 1989. In 1996 it was acquired by the Air Force Museum where they restored it as a generic RNZAF P-40E.
RNZAF P40 numbers never reached 3000 and this one cannot fly. Sounds familiar.

Don't forget you guys
If you what a RC model P40..... this HK P40n is THE one for scale. It blows all the others out of the water and makes them look silly. OK...so it's not perfect in regard to prop size LG doors etc and it is made of foam. But this HK P40n is a classic. Do do dooo....

Thanks Brent, I ordered some spare prop blades (just in case). I wouldn't mind getting my hands on another HK 1700 P40 (its such a nice bird) to do in an Aussie scheme, always liked "Currawong" and very nearly did mine in those markings. I did a Thundertiger version a long time ago which I was very fond of and which flew great.

BTW I just balanced the prop and hub (using blue tac behind the prop hub) and tested it today...got both running pretty true (no wobble in the spinner either). I also used two metal washers behind the prop hub to ensue it was all running square with the motor. Nice sound on running up.

Mine has been on my bench for 1.5 years. lol. I keep thinking i will get around to assembling it.

Which balancer did you use?

I ordered a spare tail and 2 sets of propellers blades and 2 spinners. can't hurt to have some extras i think.

Withbthe weight of the prop a d spinner, prop adapter is the weak link in the power system. Spares of adapters would be very useful.

Thought I could post some for us to look at. The first one is of Fred Sebby standing on a pile of P-40 landing gear. John Paul asked the owner how much he wanted for them, and the owner replied "$17.50."

"Each?" John Paul asked.

"Per ton!" the owner replied.
Also in the pile are B-17, B-24, P-63, and P-39 landing gear, as well as a P-40B and P-40E engine mount.

The last one shows the fuse add on. The difference between the E and the N.

My computer was overheating. I blame the cat. So now that the 3d design program is working at a tolerable speed again me and dad have had another go at the fuse, not easy. I need all the help I can get. ( Hmmm...) So don't be afraid to have your say.
I think I like this latest version.
