the new project 54" of lobstah

I recently picked this boat up. Its a 54" lobster style hull. When I got it, it was in white gelcoat. it had some nicks an a few rough spots along the mold line. The mold line is right down the center line.

Construction is pretty good, it seems solid.

I have blocked the hull with 120grit, then I applied 2 coats of high build primer. After the primer, I blocked out the boat again with 320grit.

I will leave the hull in primer until I finish building the superstructure.

no unfortunately not much progress at all. me and my wife are closing on our new house next week. that has taken alot of my time. On top of that both of our vehicles have decided that they need major work. We have also bee looking at replacing one of the vehicles.

54"

Did you decide on a drive setup/prop? Should be a fine "lobster" boat!

I have decided on what I will be ordering for a prop, shaft and stuffing tube. I have not ordered it as of yet. She has me eyeball deep in paint, new appiances and other such things related to the house. I propably wont see the this boat, or my 1:1 boat for that matter until the end of the summer.
