JXD 340 Drift King BATTERY

Hello, i have just bought my rc heli! It has inbuilt 3.7v Lipo 180mah ! It flies for around 7-8 minutes so i am very happy for this time! But i was wondering if i can use a CR123A battery (which is 3.7v and around 1000mah)! Will be there any problem? This battery only weighs 16grams so there won't be any problem! Is there any chance that i can fit that battery and have a longer flighting time? like half an hour? (180mah 3.7 flies for 7 minutes so ... 1000mah 3.7v may fly around 30 minutes +) What do you think? Does it worth trying removing the inbuilt battery and puting this one? Thanks for your help!

I think your substitute will be far heavier than the stock pouch cell weighing something like 5 grams. It probably isn't designed to handle the high discharge rate required ether.

These things are engineered as a system, and major changes in one area can have impacts in others. Running the helicopter longer would probably result in burnt up motors even if it got off the ground.

7 minutes is a quite reasonable time though 5 might be safer to prolong battery and motor life.

You'll never get half an hour flight time out of any electric helicopter.

The battery will be too heavy and the longer you run it the quicker the motors will catch fire. The electrical components are only designed to be ran for less than 10 minutes at a time, at which point they need a cooling down period.

At litehawk.ca...they have taken the original LH...(comparable to s107) and replaced its 150 mah batt. with the one from the XL...500mah...the battery is ten grams heavier...but after lightening the heli a little it more than makes up for it...flight times of 17-21 minutes!!!!!

This is an in-house Mod...the company shot the vid and posted it for us all to see...they have tons of vids on repairs...and some threads on Mods on FB too!!!

It cant be too bad....if the company did it themselves!!!!!
At least they try!!!!!!

I upgrated the battery on my drift king and it now runs for over 12 minutes. Replaced the original 200mah with a 240mah battery and added 2 100mah batteries. weight is not the only limitation on these little toys, you also have to balance the weigth.
