Because of the direction of the cable wound, its normal for some grease to exit the tube. Grim Racer's Marine grease works very well also.

So I hit a UFO underneath the water today and it took out my rudder and chipped my prop, also a stripped drive dog and a cracked nylon washer, and some fiberglass/paint got chipped off.
I am very bummed but it happens.
I will rack up some $$$ and buy some replacement parts along with a offset kintec rudder.

I use a small zip tie instead, but you want some sort of shear bolt on the lower hole of the rudder, that way if you hit a ufo the shear pin will break and kick the rudder up and no damage.

That's why we use the shear bolt.... Sorry that happened. Like mentioned def check the transom because if that much damage happened damage to the transom maybe likely. Check for cracks radiating from the holes on the transom. Hate to see damage like that.

Hi Airplanekid333, big hit that one add a plastic screw to the bottom mount point that way if you hit something again the rudder will flip up and not cause any damage.

Luckily the transom does not have any damage/cracking.
I will definitely get shear bolts after experiencing this.
There is a little spot on the right sponson where paint got chipped off and i was wondering if i should leave it or try to smooth it out with some sort of filling?

I managed to smoothen out the edges the X642, but it could be unbalanced now. Is is a big deal that a little prop is unbalanced? I do not have a balancer.

It'll just wear bushings out quicker..............wont be a huge deal for your sport running............unless one blade is 1 ounce and the other is half a pound.............then you have issues.
