Build Log

My first Mikrokopter... V-Okto

Hey Guys,
hereīs my build log for my (clone) MK Oktokopter, sorry for my bad english... but i hope you enjoy it

First the the "alternativ" clone MK components arrived, works like a charm, firmware update and everything is fine

than i started to build the frame, square 10x10x1mm alu from the local hardware store

than i got two 200x200x1,5mm plywood pieces glued with epoxy on top and bottom.

than the motors arrived

prop adapters mounted

the i drilled holes in the alu and mounted the motors.

Next step.. electronics so i started with the ESC Power and I2C wiring loom

FC and PPM/RX encoder are rdy too !

than i soldered the escs to the motors... dont forget the shrink tube! :P

now its looking like that:

than i cleaned that mess (at least a bit..) with zip ties <3

decoupled FC mount

balanced props and mounted them ( see the one motor without? the motor has bad bearings... need a new one)

ESC + motor closeup

thats what it looks like now

hope you liked it video is comming !

i was testing today...and whhoops it was airborne ... with just 7 motors :P
verryy stable...

the frist flight video is... hopefully 7 airmail days away :P

the transmitter ( hardware) IS GREAT... for that price... awesome.
BUT: the turingy firmware is not so good, for standart planes no problem, copter no problem, but if you want to do some more mixing its very complicated.
i changed my firmware to th9x and now its a great radio like the ones fo 600$

but there is another problem. i get i2c errors from the esc #1 just like 1-5 .. i think the long cable could be a reason, maybe i put another capacitor on the esc. got some spares.
