Yes, that's obeche/wallnut/obeche..
I need advice guys..
I should make first planking with obeche or balsa?..
Previously I was thinking about making one planking directly with mahogany..
But it will be better to make two I think..(?)

Not only is the design beautiful, but you have a good eye for photography. I am thoroughly enjoying your work!

Would it be rude to ask how much laser cutting the frames cost?

Thank you RGinCanada, I'm glad that you like it.
Laser cutting of my parts (20 stations and small bits) costs about £28 without material.
I've prepared all drawings for them, because if they would do it, they will charge you. I have no problems with this company, easy and painless..
And..my second hobby is photography..

I think double planking with 1/16 inch stock. I prefer linear inside and radial out but that is up to you. Balsa inside is easiest to fair, then soak with clear penetrating epoxy sealer but stain first to match the color of the finish planks to avoid white show through. Photography eh? What format do you prefer? I always enjoy setting up a view and waiting for just the right light. Unfortunately they finally did take my kodachrome away...

I will go first for 1/16 obeche and 1/16 mahogany then.

In regards of photography, since I have 1st Pentax I began to be "Pentaxian" . I have K20D with some older and newer lenses.
My second camera is 645N medium format.
I've sent you PM with link to my works..

I am finally going to ask after giving this several days of contemplation; what are the cut outs in the transom for?

Hello.
These are cut outs for the exhaust. I would like to cover it with some sort of heat cover.

Thank you Cecil
