Fairly new to the quad copter scene... happened on the Arduino about 6 months ago soon followed by the diydrones site and then rcexplorer.se that inspired me to try the kkcontroller and build my own quad.
I made it a little too big but was wanting stability for camera platform. I ran the motor wires through the tubing and the wire was heavier than needed as well. I was using stuff that I already had on hand.
I use the bungees to hold down a plywood camera mount on the foam stand offs. AUW is about 1300g with a 2200ma 3s battery. I have flown it with a payload of about 500g but its much happier with about half of that.
Prop center to center is about 110cm... already have version 2 in work with much smaller center to center.... about 60 cm or so.
I intend to rework this quad to about 85cm and rewire the motor leads with something lighter.
