mCP X (non chat) setup and tips owners thread

the amount of initial negative pitch at zero stick makes it difficult to manage.
as a quick fix i used 62% pos/H sub trim on the pitch and also increased my throttle curve to really smooth it out.

on the DX7

steps for proper pitch:
1 bind and initalize the heli.
2 rotate the blades in the grips foreward(looking from the side you will notice the blades now point down)
3 sub trim until the blades are just below level

steps for a better throttle curve in normal mode:
L=0
1=46.5%
2=72.5%
3=85.5%
H=100%

The main gear as stated in other threads is something to really keep an eye on. right before liftoff the heli sounded a little weird and there it was, slipping down the shaft on battery 4. Perhaps a screw or a tiny collar will fix this, however, the main shaft can be slipped out from the bottom of the heli as the head is screwed on. I hate to be the first, but i am thinking a drop of CA will keep the gear in place without much recourse unless the main gear strips. for now i just pushed it on(carefully) but tight. If it comes loose again it is getting glued.

The gear mesh is incredibly tight and doesnt seem very adjustable. it does slow the blades down quick on power-off but it is also cuting into flight time. so far i have seen 2-3 minutes at a time and i am not even flying it that hard. I loostened the motor screws and tightened the foreward one first really tight and then the rearward with a little less torque. any suggestions?

the servos....
as posted in other threads the servos shiver while the heli sits in neutral. I assume this is due to the sensativity of the gyros and is normal. so far the other owners in my area have the same symptom and it doesnt seem to cause any problems during flight.

Thanks turboparker! I've got the same Futaba TX and a buddy has a 9CHP so this will come in handy. We've been flying ours already, but will try these settings.

loc-tite is a must on the featheringshaft screw! the screw is so tiny and short it is hard to work with. to make it a bit easier, put a tiny bit of CA on the tip of your screwdriver and glue the screw to it, then dip it in loc-tite and reinstall it... it really makes it easier.
