Yes, that's exactly it! Only thing you missed is to drill a hole in the brass tube so that the set screw from the coupler can contact the flat spot on the impeller shaft.

Edit: Not totally clear in your drawing, so just to clarify: The impeller shaft goes into the brass tube, (very short piece, just long enough to fit inside the coupler) and the brass tube goes inside the coupler.
I'll get a pic of mine for you sometime tonight.

I expect everybody who's interested has seen this vid, since it's been on youtube for a couple of years. But for those of us who favour the sprint boats it's still one of the best. And if you haven't seen it, it allows you lots of views of the undersides of the hulls on the full-size craft

Yep, that's exactly what I was talking about! You did an excellent job too, until you got to the prop, it looks like something you might find in the shower, or on the floor around the toilet! (Not that I could have done any better!)

That was supposed to be a jagged line (to indicate that prop shaft carried on beyond the limit of the drawing) but I couldn't find the right icon in Publisher in the few minutes it took to do the image! So I just did a wiggly line. After all, I didn't want to have to show the bearing, the jet tube, the impeller, the stator etc etc. Would have been at it all night. As long as it did the trick.

Any resemblance to a pubic hair is purely accidental.

But if your motor makes enough noise, you can't hear the wife over the noise of the engine - if you keep it runnin'. That's why I liked drag racing. No woman can make herself heard over the sound of a top fuel engine

Mad, had 4 wives..same overall running cost as a T/F car, trust me..as many repairs too..

Now, I just have "fiances" ..MUCH cheaper to run, no low resale to worry about, when they wear out, or blow up, JUNK em..
