I'm looking forward to seeing your new boat come along. I just might be getting addicted to boats lol.

I had a couple hiccups with bent couplers and shafts right from the start, I ended up ordering a flexi shaft from SicRC and his grate too. It was a big improvement. The first motor went up in smoke after about 20 seconds of testing so that hindered things too, but just bought another and it seems to be working fine. I went for a 3400kv as I didn't want to chance the same fate with the last motor and this one could handle a few extra amps. It doesn't seem to cause any issue at full throttle either which is handy.

None the less, I've finally finished mine today and got it out for a few batteries. All went really well. No leaks inside, no issues with the setup, I'm really quite happy and I'll be looking to do some rivers and streams soon as I only tested it all out in open water today.

Here's a few pics of the ol girl. Just a plain paint job for now. I'll get a few decals added onto it in time.

Also thanks to all for your wisdom in helping me get setup. Especially to madbugger

Thanks Chidago, I agree Steve's stuff is great! I'm sure I could have made it myself, but I was getting the flexishaft from him, than ended up getting the little upgrade kit as it included a good coupler and the grate too, so it was easier clicking a button than making it myself

The blue only looks that good with the flash or in direct sun. Otherwise it's a bit darker. It's Ford Amparo Blue. You may like the Ford Imperial Blue more(I do, but they didn't have it where I was buying the paint from).

That blue is VERY close to a VW Golf I used to own. It was called Stratos Blue.

Or Honda's "Electron Blue Pearl" that they used on the Si model Civics for a few years.

Good to know. It's hard to find the Stratos Blue at an auto parts store, but they may have the Honda color for someone looking for that.

Power came in today, 3300kv, long case, more torque, by the same company that make castle/neu..

I went a little lighter on kv, as this motor HAS the power to get to the 3300..lol

This jet is going to load much harder, so, I was looking at a hobby king motor, but, didnt trust the specs..this combo should overdrive the jet by about 27%..that allows for misc. design flaws, and gives the big hole shot.
