Hi.
I want to fly his plane as EDF with retracts.
What is the verdict?
Does it fly and perform or not?
Is it worth the time and cost to build this one?
Thanks for helping

I think the scary part is if you receive 2 left wings or 2 right intakes. Happened ver often.
I have my finger on the trigger.

Hi.
I have a fine kit, but the feeling I have is that it doesn't fly well.
Ozgur confirmed that, so I ask you all if it is worth building this one.
Best

Dear Takiss,

My power system is HET fan and 2W-20, these are totally 68+93grams... Also I am using Turnigy plush 60A ESC. Unfortunately I am not happy with its flying characteristic and performance.

Maybe this is because of that I also add fully functional canards, not because of its functions but because of that it occupy some space in the battery area. That's why I am flying a bit nose heavy. In my opinion this plane must be as light as possible, like 900grams maximum, but mine AUW is 1300grams and that is too much.

I don't get the same pleasure while I am flying with my T-45, ok some people would say they have different flying characteristics but what I don't understand is the huge performance difference even T-45 is 64mm.

Lander Rafale might be a good choice but this one is just waste of time unless if you go with pusher prop or keep it around 800-900grams.

830W at 63A.

That was with a 2836 3200kv HK motor, 5x5 prop, 60A esc and a 25-50c rated nano tech 2200 4sp1.

You guessed it flying time was short!

But it was alot faster and louder than the EDF version!

Did have some trouble with getting it level in flight. But sorted it out after a minute or so.

On the second flight moved cg further to the front, it did not take off right, tried to abort but it did a small hop over someting on the beach and it took off the nose. No more flying that day.

So I guess I should take it back to the drawing board and figure out a new power plant.
A quick question, how did you do the afterburner mod for 4S?

Shot.

I will check it. If she flies half as good as the mirage 4000, is worth her price.

This plane has several important problems

N1
The entry and the air outlet is not good

It is necessary to modify it to have an acceptable return

N2
The quality of the material is really very bad

I received mine today. I held my breath when opening the bOx.

Orait!! No repeated parts!

Quality looks good.

A bit worried about the comments here.

Don't worry about comments. I've received mine too... Held my breath too... And... No repeated parts, nothing broken.
I'm working on new internal aerodynamics able to make this thing a true jetfighter. I'll open a new thread as soon as i'll start working on it. It'll be a real big work !

Ok, please post your flying performance with a video... I really would like to read and watch them after your big effort and time on this plane...

Anybody turned one of these into a pusher? Was curious if you would have enough room up front to balance with a 3S 2200 mah battery and motor/prop on tail end. Don't want to have to add weight in the nose. Hand launch/belly lander. No landing gear.

Started the work on my HK Rafale... After some verifications, i'm not surprised it's so slow. The Intakes/exhausts ratio is inapropriate and the internal aerodynamics has to be redone.
So, i enlarged the room inside the airframe to install the new fiberglass inlets.
I'll use a true WM 400 70mm EDF with a Jetsceamer 1400. There'll be a single exhaust hidden between the scaled exhausts of the model.
Of course, that's a big work, but i think it's the price to pay to make this kit a true jet !

The HK model is a good base to work on. It just needs some esthetic surgery to be more scaled (pointed nose, filling in panels lines that look like trenches, etc.), and some modifications to be more efficient (active canards, powerfull set-up, etc.). Of course, the airframe will be entirely glassed to get a nice smooth finish. I'll also have to do a new nice canopy. The one from the box is crappy and crumbly.
Here are few pics of the airframe. The Mirage 2000 is powered with the same setup and is a great fast flyer.
