i loved mine coverted. my mkII was about 20 years old when i crashed it due to a dead rx pack. but, i was using a 900KV 35-42 motor on a 12x6E with a 4s 5000. right about the same power as a decent .40, and my longest flight was 26min!!!!!! touch and goes all day long. this was the plane that my dad built to teach me how to fly. i was 6 when he built it, and 28 when i crashed it. who knows how many hundreds of flights it had.

Thanks for the interest. I am building this for/with my brother (doc993). This will initially run a Monster Power 32 Outrunner. My bro will set up the guts.
I built a Kadet Jr. in 1988. doc993 converted it to electric recently and has been flying it with his video cam.

I have extended the D-box one rib. I upgraded the vertical sheet on this to 3/16" from 1/8". the extension is 1/8". I am considering more extension, but am concerned about weight due to the trailing parts (more later).

Looking good! I'm getting ready to start my Kadet Senior kitbash. flaps/ailerons with twins all on floats.

It'll be fun to watch your build come together.

Trailing edge photos


I decided to use 1 1/2"trailing edge to both replace the 1 1/8" stock provided for ailerons and to fill in under the trailing sheet replacing the stock back edge. I hope this wing doesn't get too heavy! You can see in the pics, I am planning to cut out some material. I'm not sure if this will help much with the weight, however the wood selected for the fill is very stiff balsa and I will be able to bend it this way. (Left side has a slight warp.)

Wow that looks great, I doubt you will add enough weight to affect the performance.But continue to do what you do best .
These brush less motors are very power full, wow flaps very cool slow flight.

I have an old MkII that's still on glow that I've been considering conversion to EP...

Nice mod raw. Looking forward to the finished product.

Don't get to crazy weighing every thing, it will drive you nuts.Keep building,we probably wont have it flying till next year,. but it's going to be awesome.Later.

Paullie has been overwhelmed with real life and has a sad looking empty build bench. I can only watch while this beauty gets done. Soon enough though, soon enough. I finally recevied all the electrics for the twin motor setup last week. That did help light the fire a bit.

I thought about messing around with contra rotating and but research done here on rcg led me to believe that it wasn't really necessary, so I won't.

That being said, Now I'm interested in yours. Link for build log of your Bugatti?
