Did you fix the fried tail FET? You can fix them for about a buck and a half
I sold that heli not worth the hassle, My second one has a bad gyro so im gonna have to restore it to stock because i broke a few booms and a body mount in the troubleshooting, So now i got to restore it and send it in, It was relatively new when this occurred, My third one works great put the fast flight blades cause my high performance blades with damaged and a .3 or something inch extended hollow carbon tail boom with wires going through them

The guy that fets my mini z's could do it for me for little money but he doesnt do helis so i gues ill forget about it

This is a great heli, fun to fly and very tough.
Yes made sure all were set up the same, and differently even have flown them all as separate models and as the same model on one TX and on three different TX's. Have tried different pitch settings. Of the three the first one has always flown the best, next would be #2 and then #3.. Even tried a new motor in #3. #2 had a problem with losing control when 15 feet away. I seem to have fixed this by re soldering the antenna wire and power leads to the board.. #3 just had a new servo installed as one went bad..and a new board..

Using the Scotch tape mod on the booms has really cut down on the breakage on all three..

Get out and fly it!

Yes I now just do two wraps around the boom right where it meets the frame and then a little hot glue at the joint.. Use the clear tape..

Bob's scotch tape mod (pat. pending) works great.
I used it on my mCPX boom. The boom held up much better in a crash.
In fact it didn't break anymore where the tape was but it did break in the frame as I couldn't tape the part that goes into the frame or it wouldn't fit.
So I went to a solid boom. The problem is it is hard on the frame
and can break it where the boom goes into.

That's why you are to put the hot glue at the joint..

He can't...still working on the patent.

(I just used a thin coating of 5min epoxy on mine- holds good enough, but can be gotten out if needed.)

When Bob wasn't looking I snapped some pictures of his heli.
You can see the "hot glue" on the tail boom going into the frame mount.
This will apply to the mCPX boom/frame too.
There is JB Weld also to reinforce the parts.

Next is to snap some pictures of the boom with the scotch tape mod...

You must of taken those pictures before I used the black Sharpe to make all the glue black to match the frame..

OK, I'm busted!

Those pictures were posted for me in my review thread when I asked Bob
if he could take some pictures for me of the "hot glue & JB weld reinforcements".
So same idea for any helicopter for the boom frame mount.

Here is a picture of the JB Weld after a black sharpe. It blends in with the frame.
