Tri Cities, WA, 3/11-13/11

Well, it seems I have this here glider that needs tossed off a cliff, and since there are no decent cliffs in my neighborhood, I guess I'll take a drive.

My wife and I are looking for a decent place to camp out this weekend (in a trailer, not roughing it too bad!), and I would really love to get in some sloping while we're at it.

What kind of winds do you need to fly the tri cities sites? Do you think we'll have enough this weekend?

Anyone care to show us around if we decide to come over?

I'm also looking at Saddle Mtn near Mattawa. We can ride dirt bikes there too.

Check out the Mid-Columbia Soarers website here http://mcs.rchomepage.com/index.htm for info on the Tri Cities slopes. Forecast for Kennewick looks light, but the wind at Eagle Butte is always stronger than the forecast. You have to be a member to fly at Eagle Butte. I'm out of town or I would be happy to show you the slopes.

I'm seriously thinking about making a bonsai run over to Eagle Friday (just for the day). I can meet you over there, anyone else?

I'm still watching the weather. Kind of a long way to drive with only one slope plane, and I'm not 100% sure it's going to work!!!

If we went, we would either drive over Thursday evening, or early Friday morning.

I'm leaning towards going, that is if it looks like the weather will support flying!

Southwest is the right direction at Eagle. If I were home, I would be there.

Friday looks like the day, mid to high 50's, SW at 15 which means probably more like 20-25, I'm thinkin' it's going to be worth the drive.

Hey there, it looks like we're going to head over as well. We'd work up a carpool, but we're planning to stay on the east side for the weekend, so I don't think that would work.

Do you have your "Membership" already?

All right, I've just finished browsing a few old Eagle Butte threads, and now I'm completely stoked to head over and check it out for myself! I just wish I had more toys to bring with me.

On that note, if anyone heading that way Friday or Saturday has some ships they might part with, bring em up. I'm on the hunt for some!!! (I'll warn you though, I'm cheap.)

I sure hope she flys!!!

A group of us from the Seattle area were planning on going. Maybe not now.
This is the weather site I like. Tomorrow looks Epic!

It is pretty reliable. 20mph usually means between 40 and 70.
Things change, we might be there.

Saturday forecast looks great for Eagle. As others have indicated Eagle faces SW - 220-230 degrees. It should be 20-25 on Saturday....
