Great 4 - 2 - 4 stunt run, and I love the fact that you use it as a leaf blower. The neighbours kids seem impressed, even if the neighbours aren't ! I note that you held onto the test bench the whole time, as I'm sure a Tigre 56 could have got it airborne in no time

Peter, a nice looking engine - I wonder if O.F.W. Fisher (in the Isle of Man) mentioned it in his book ? It would appear to be possibly from the second half of the 60's, as it's not a Schnuerlie, and it has provision for a muffler. The front race on the shaft must be very narrow - if there's one there, that is. Does it have a ringed piston - if so, 1 or 2 ? The throttle appears to be from a MERCO 49 or 61. Speaking of Peter Fisher (of "Performance Kits" fame), the photo's below pertain to a pre-production HOBBS .75 Diesel, in the creation of which Peter was involved apparently (paperwork dated January 1977).
Ocean Francis William Fisher passed away 13th April, 2005

I was given an old crashed plane, who is older than me))) His wings removable. I will make a new profile fuselage.

Hello Bob,

just looked again. The engine has 2 BBs (marked KLN England) and two piston rings. The original carby was completely worn out; I replaced it with the Merco carb. Threads are not metric so must be from UK, Canada or US. I agree must be from the 60s.

Peter,

Was the original carb an R/C version or C/L type venturi with NV?

Hi John,

it was a RC carby but it did not really fit and was too narrow at the case. I donīt remember the type; could be a K&B, but not sure.

Peter,

Off subject on reply, but on Glow subject. No hand slapping required. I noticed from Adrian's article on the MOKI that you have an S-1. I have lusted for one of these since I first saw it in the European mags after winning the F2A World Championships. I do have an S-2 and an S-3. Do you know where I could possible score one?

Thanks,
Johnny
