Perhaps krafty could give us his thoughts on this one ?
"...a small 1.5cc four stroke aero engine designed to run on methanol & castor oil mix ie glow fuel. It was built by my Father in 1960.....it used to be flown in a free flight model, dimensions are width across engine bearers 33mm height from engine bearers 44mm and length from rear of carb to prop driver 68mm"

Very nice old Enya 60 6-bolt with original factory "carb" - circa late '50's, very early 1960's. The "muffler" is actually just a duct, but also factory original. Rare marine version last 2 photo's

[Here i have for auction a home made four stroke aero engine of 12.5cc it is very similar to a laser 75 this one was built by my Father in 1088 and has not run for some years now built to a very hight standard and produces more power than a laser 75 1000rpm more and is a bit lighter comes with silencer but need ba screws to fit 8ba i think not sure comes with 14in prop as well please feel free to ask any questions and ill get right back to you and do look at my other items for auction]

Sorry, I can't help - I only have the one NIB 60 myself. Like flexi needles and tanks on Frog 500's, they were the first things discarded

Confused by the fact that this OS has 15 D written on the side, and comes in a Max 15 Diesel box ? However, it is the genuine glow version (note the head with the offset plug) even though both engines share the same basic crankcase. Its official title is the OS Max-D 15 Racing Glow, dates from 1961 and is now, I would think, very much rarer than its Diesel sibling (which was a bit of a flop, but collectors don't care) Chinn's test here
(http://sceptreflight.net/Model%20Eng...15%20Glow.html) It's thought that these were never made available to the public, but were handed out by the OS Factory to top F/F flyers of the day. Presumably hand-made, very few exist (supposedly, only 28 were manufactured). The top engine appears to have the 4 digit Serial # of 1008 whilst the lower ones are # 106 and # 104
The genuine Diesel Max-D on the bottom row for comparison - note that it has the word DIESEL spelt in vertical letters between the exhaust stack & lug

WEBRA 1.8cc GLOW ENGINE FOR MODEL BOAT USE. ENGINE HAS 2 : 1 REDUCTION GEAR WHICH ALLOWS THE ENGINE TO DEVELOP MORE TORQUE TO TURN A BIGGER PROP.

This is a vintage custom built Russian MATAS - 2.5 cc geared glow engine, it was specially modified from an original Russian MATAS engine for fast nitro RC boat F1-V3.5 NAVIGA competition class. Only one engine in this configuration was made. Donor engine was manufactured in USSR in 1980. Serial number is 381 (only about 500 of these engines were manufactured). Bottom row of photo's show a standard air-cooled aircraft MATAS

Browsing old catalogues, it seems to have been sold as late as 1964-65....here, as a standard part of the marine version.

Bosse, correct ! That old 60 was sold pretty much right up to the time that the Enya 60-II Model 7032 appeared in 1965

" Profi 0.49 Combat Glow engine. This unit is one of the first series of these engines and was produced (I believe) somewhere in the 2006 - 2008 timeframe. This engine has an identical mounting pattern to the Cyclon 0.49 and features an AAC piston/liner assembly and uses Nelson glow plugs. The unit is very highly timed and will respond best to props with no more than 3" of pitch (2.5" may well be better). Please note a pressure fitting (Super Tigre) has been mounted in the back plate "

Would you believe it ! Just when we thought we had found the oldest engine (shown above, 1088) known to Man, along comes an even older one (by 22 years). Incredible !
