I just ran that little Firecracker. It makes me realise just how good modern throttles are. It does 11000 rpm flat out and 7000 rpm at idle! The throttle is more effective as a muffler than a speed controller.
I have a Fox 07 RC that was made about a decade later and it also idles at 7000 rpm. |

Didn't sell at that price! And there was no bid at all. This is much more attractive and reasonable:

Hi Down Under
Did you find the Bolts? Try looking for old Telephone Exchange switches, I saw some at Junction Hobbies(model train shop) the traing guys use them still. I use to use them for a source of replacement screws and strips of brass and spring steel. I had a Taipan 61 like that in the 1980's when I was learning to fly. Mine had a Perry carb on it and it ran like a dog !!! muffler screws also kept unscrewing as well!!!, I suspect It was worn out when I got it. ......I bet it is now valued and more than the OS 61FSR I replaced it with. If you can't find any I can have a look in my junk box ....PM if you still need them |

Fuji
I was actually bidding on an original (and very hard to find) OS engine mount but this engine was part of the sale. Altough not really interested I could not resist rebuilding it (it's an addiction really) and here are some before's and after's. Never seen that lay out on a cylinder and originally had a paper gasket so made a new one as well as one for the back door. Only option to get rid of the alu stains was alu-blasting it. One side of the case has Fuji and the other side has AS with an arrow trough it. Never seen that either but then I do not know much about Fuji's.

Os
This is the OS engine mount I mentionned. There was one broke-off bolt in one of the holes but I have already been able to take it out. This makes for the 3rd OS mount I have been able to find and this one is yet another model.

I'm not sure if you have seen this website:
http://modelenginenews.org There is a long article on Fuji, mainly about the .099. There are references to a Silver Arrow 29 made between 52 and 55. That might be what yours is. |

Reginald, that’s a really nice clean up job you did on the Fuji. Was the inside just as “rough” as the outside, or are the piston/cylinder fit ok? I had a nib older engine that wasn’t properly oiled and the piston/cylinder corroded together and was most difficult to separate.

OS Wankel
Here some pics of the Wankel insides since I am in the process of rebuilding a few. Make sure you do have a new OS screw and nut set, since the hex screws are so tight you will damage the heads and even may need to hold the nuts with pliers. I have done Wankels many times before.

OS Wankel
This is what the crankshaft looks like.
No piston rings of course, these are the "tips" that do seal the triangular piston, each one pressed down by 2 springs. |
