R.v.e.

The Robinson with disc-valve, rotating via spur gears and a vertical drive-shaft
that is driven by a bevel gear at the rear of the crankshaft. The engine is from 1980 ans is a O.60 cu.in. Instead of a conical valve ala Webra T-4, here it is a flat valve. I have not dismantled this engine yet but have noticed now that it has been long enough in the waiting cue so I will give it a nice warm U-son bath soon because the engine hardly turns over. Wonder why ? I seem to remember that I did clean Danny's engine and I think he's got a prototype. I had a proto myself but sold that to another Belgian collector, so yes, there are at least 3 Robinsons in Belgium. Sure we will be more famous one day than that Manneken Pis, just wait and see. I have a couple of Kosmic .23 RC engines. Are they collectable or valuble? Can't seem to find evidence of any changing hands on the bay. I'd like to use them for CL combat... or should they be stored out of harms way?

cheers

Do you fellows ever run your engines? If so, have you taken video? If so, are the videos up on Youtube or anywhere else they can be viewed?

Is that Cipolla 4 stroke engine a dual rotary valve design? Or did the camshafts operate the valves directly? Maybe with cups for the followers so that you can use then to adjust the valve gaps?
it is a really neat engine in any case.

There are two rotary valves. By coincidence there is a dismantled Cipolla on RC Universe earl, good pictures too.

Kmot,
We did run quite some engines, first on a test bench after that on our planes, but that was back in the 80's and 90's. Unfortunately Internet and YouTube wasn't born by then. The last engine run (on a test bench) dates back a couple of Years ago. For R/C flying It's all electric these days (due to noise regulations) and we have to spend some time on soldering, battery charging, ESC programming, etc...
But now that You mention it, I should (bench)run one again just for that 4-stroke noise.
Think our mister engine man 'le duc' Reggy will test run one very soon

I found a link from a French Collector with some information about the Cipolla TSV engine:
http://e.a.t.chez-alice.fr/cipolla.html
they also discussed it here:
http://www.clstunt.com/htdocs/dc/dcb...=350295&page=3

it was mentioned in a post in this thread here too:
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...ght=tsv&page=2
and RCU here;
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_56...tm.htm#5650051

and some specs on it at the bottom of this list of Cipolla engines here:

Well, I know they do not have this 4 stroke engine, because I have it.

But now I have seen Reggie's website and that is only a fraction of the engines he has. I assume if he doesn't have a particular engine, he will have it it soon.
