IMO, they look a lot nicer with the head and, for a collector, the engine is obviously more "complete".

This is the slightly later model, with a normal cylinder, separate head and gasket, etc. My neighbours didn't complain.
In spite of their appearance, these are super engines. Dead easy to operate and quite powerful.

It is Frank, but don't buy an engine unless you have a friend in Japan who can send it to you, otherwise it'll get confiscated (Thinks - how come Ken Enya can send engines but buyee can't ?)

Vella would appear to be the correct answer folks.
If you look very closely at the circle on the side of all 3 engines shown below, you can see the stylised word Vella - a large V followed by smaller letters (image #2 courtesy of Adrian Duncan's website).
