Best EPP flying wing as a powered glider

Which of the EPP wings (with what motor/battery combo) would you list as the best powered glider? (i.e. climb with motor power, and then ability to soar for a long time)

Old wing but with a light motor and lipo the Slinger does great in moderate lift. I am using a Turnigy 2826-1650 with a 7x6 prop 1300 mAh lipo and can get into thermals for over a half hour.

I have a Swift 2, with just a cheap GWS motor, and have managed to get 20+ minutes of flight with it, with a 3cell 910 battery.

maxi lift from the maxi swift

I think the maxi swift is a better sailplane as it has a thicker airfoil and will fly very slowly if built light, I poly-glassed mine with 3/4 oz glass and use it to fly a small camera. its definitly the floaty-est wing i have

The Unicorn. At it's original 48" she's a great soarer.

I second the Unicorn. The best gliding wing I have seen.

You must check out the MWC Starfire. I just ordered one. The vids I have seen on youtube are brilliant. The price is amazing. And its shape is perfect. Compound sweep very efficient and there is a coool build forum on RCgroups .

I will most likely make mine with a pusher folding prop if I can figure how to make the fold prop work as a pusher.

best soaring wind

Hi, take a look at my blog - the photos beneath - the one I call Skua is the best all rounder, very flat glide, any turn without height loss, and acrobatic. Good luck.

Got over 30min of fly - glides (without slope or thermal help) , on my ele-bee with 2S Lipo 4800mAh ...

Yes ... landing is slow and nice ... and still ... with a good motor can be very fast too

Tchuss

+ What is nice, it is that take standard servo size (not the mini), lot of space for the electronic and battery
- Stock motor mount is not perfect ... but still is ok for hot glue Brushless inrun motors ... 2000/3000 RPM is on 3S Lipo is the motor needed for this wing
