Some may feel this thread belongs in the foamy forum, but the intention is clearly to build an indoor model.

This will be a 6-foot wingspan Piper Cub model, built from depron, carbon fiber and balsa. Plywood may be used for mounting a brushless motor.

Projected finished weight, with electronics and paint is under 20 ounces. This will be a quick project, hopefully completed within a week.

I'll post updates and new images each day.

I've started work on the fuselage and a functioning bungee landing gear system. I'll take photos tonight.

Oh, that's pretty already! Is it 6mm spar with 3mm ribs and skin? Would be nice with something for scale, that doesn't look like 1.5m by itself

Yes, 6mm webbing, leading edge and trailing edge, and 3mm ribs and skin.

Leading edge and trailing edge will be sanded when the wing is fully 'covered'.

More work done, but it takes a lot of thinking, and that tires me out.

I'm not using any plans; I'm copying a small 3-view drawing and making it up as I go along.

That's a little mind boggling. Can't wait to see flight video!

3. Motor mount and cowl
4. Wing struts and tail wire supports (for scale looks only; not needed for support)
5. Battery hatch
6. Electronics completed
7. Balance
8. Paint and decorate

Upper fuselage covered, center-top wing covered, lower cowl completed and motor mounted.

This will definitely take longer than one week.

Hopefully, I can get a lot done next weekend. I'll post images then.

Current total weight including motor, servos mostly covered wing, and complete fuselage minus dummy engines and struts, battery, receiver and speed control is 14 ounces, still on target to be 20 ounces or less.

I hope nobody minds; I'm also using this thread as a log for myself, regarding what is completed, and what still needs to be done.

Just amazing work. Love the tight joints. I really am looking forward to seeing a video with a fence post in background of the video so we can see that it is in fact moving 'cause she's gonna be a slow one.
