I too have been using reverse diff in thermal mode on the Polaris since last summer. It goes against my better judgement, especially on a rudderless plane where adverse yaw is more noticeable. I was so sure it would make yaw worse than with regular diff, with extra drag on the down aileron. I fought it and was very skeptical about even trying it. But I eventually did, and liked it! I notice no difference with yaw, and I feel it thermal turns a little better because it doesn't tend to drop the nose as much when the ailerons deflect. It feels easier to fly.

I was a proponent of reverse differential for a while too, but some experimenting changed my opinion to... it doesn't really matter. I put my aileron differential on a switch so I could change from reverse differential to no differential (or positive differential). I could flip this switch while thermalling in lift. One turn with reverse next turn without. I could not see any difference in lift rate. The only difference was in where my aileron stick was positioned when countering rudder input. BUT, everyone who's posted about this in this thread is a better pilot than me so definately YMMV!

Don't be so humble, Finchie. You are an amazing competitor, one that I always am watching out for. You can put some damage on any pilot out there. The US F3K community's talent pool has grown so much lately that it's always a tough battle. I love it!

Ok, back to our scheduled program: Concepts are great airplanes! Keep up the amazing work, Roland!

Roland at the Worlds got me to use the reverse diff it was his idea and it works great. At the Worlds before it started I set all my planes up that way cheers.

Since I got home from AZ open I set up rev diff In thermal mode on my concepts cause g man tell me to.
I can't say it's been a love connection (yet)
The plane handles different and seems harder to turn smoothly
All other modes are 50-50
Does rev diff require typically less rudder mix or more
Thanks
Tom

Got to test in great conditions today
Backed off Rudd mix % in all modes from 75-40%
Also thermal Chamber now at 5mm (was 3)
Rev diff in therm mode only (bout 3-1)
Skyler and Jason flew it and liked it more after the changes, flys the best to me now too.

Nice videos, George! I like the one of Jenn learning to putt. She has a good teacher. I am jealous; I wish I had a pin in my yard...and you as a coach
