Thanks for the pics Georgie... not your typical looking CX2's that's for sure. Normal layups? 9.3 oz???

You should be set for the WC's buddy. Keep em in one piece, and fly smart, you'll do well.

Later.

Read 'em and weep boys.

I maidened #3 today. All I can say is WOW. It flies great!

It weighs in at 9.25oz with the CG at 86mm. No nose weight required using Roland's NiMH battery and his optional elevator servo.

Roland has switched to a spread tow fabric for the fuse pod and the fit and finish on this model is even better than my first two. I am in total awe of this man's skills. THANK YOU ROLAND!

Thanks Mike. How long are your antennas on the 6255? According to the Spektrum website they are 105 mm long. Roland's CX2 instructions indicates the antennas should be at least 5.5 inches (140 mm) long to fit into the tubes in the wings. So I'm a bit confused how the 6255 can be used with the CX2, assuming one is trying to use the Mike Smith method of antenna installation in the wings.

Antennas

Mike has custom long antennas on his 6255's.

My Airtronics antennas are 210mm long. I position the end of the rx near the wing leading edge and run the antennas all the way to the rear spar. I want the active portion as far away from the carbon D tube as possible. I run my tubes out at 45 degrees which is parallel to the disser pattern.

Reception has been rock solid so far.

Thanks Dan. How does one get special long antennas for an AR6255? Is this a custom modification that Mike did him self or something Spektrum offers? I'm asking because I want to figure out what to order for my CX2s coming later this summer.

I think these will fit. Also available in 150mm and 600mm lengths.

Edit: You can make a long antenna to any shorter length just by cutting it and stripping the shield at the right distance (28mm???)

Antennas

By the way, this is what I am using for the antenna tubes-

Du-Bro 30" Micro Pushrod System, .047" size. Catalog #922. One package will do three models. Available at your LHS.

The outer housing is clear. When you hold the wing up to the light you can actually see where the active portion of the antennas end up.
