Full flying stab mount to much drag, with strong throwers it kills your launch as I have proven with the Blaster-3 and the Steig much better throw height with conventional stab. Those are my findings

Not much of a build very easy and straight forward. Three hours tops, installing the peg is the hardest part how cool is that. Start Saturday morning at the flying field by noon. I have never seen a #1 plane with the sweet workmanship and easy to assemble on the planet. Will be waiting for pics thanks for the cookies as always.

You are going to love the way they fly as much as you love their looks Matt. Good luck.

Concept cx2 augers in at major western dlg event

Yes it's true sort of... After the first launch during the ladder task at our contest on Sunday, I realized I had no elevator control. The plane started downward at a steep glide and with full elevator stick I was not able to level it out so I circled it back to the field for a hard landing luckily not hitting anyone or anything. Don't ask me about flaps...I was petrified. It did a long slide to a stop undamaged and I immediately switched planes. I managed to get the 1:45 but not enough time left for the 2:00 but I still won the round!

So inspection showed that the elevator pushrod had come out of the control horn! The reason was because the h-stab guide pin at the LE was a tiny bit loose... this allowed the entire assembly to rotate on the mounting bolt when I launched. It only needed to rotate a couple mm (with the help of launch force) to disconnect itself from the pushrod.
So a little CA got the pin fixed and the stab re-centered, and in an effort to minimize the possibility in the future, I did two things. First I added a small piece of double-stick to the most-aft part of the stab pylon, then after re-attaching the assembly, I put a tiny ball of GOOP on the end of the pushrod so it can't slide out of the horn. (Suggested by my good flying buddy John Lovins. Thanks John!)
I don't recall bumping the h-stab against anything hard enough to loosen the pin... maybe it was an un-noticed mid-air tap...I don't know, but CX2 pilots should give their h-stabs a wiggle right now to make sure they're tight. I got lucky.
I'd like to hear if you guys have any better suggestions.
John

P.S. These awesome CX2s performed superbly for me at the contest. I'm happy.

Could you maybe do a Z-bend on the stab pushrod end? That way you dont have to re-goop everytime you put it back on, unless you dont plan on removing the stab very often
