Name this Aircraft

Ok a little help. I have been looking to getting back into flying the old pattern planes. I have been trying to decide on a plane and decided to go through some old boxes from when i moved across country in '92. To my surprise i found this and dont remember what kit it was. 59" wing span and 49" tip to tail and seems to have a motor mount for a .40 -.46

Looks Good !

Mid wing 40 size, wings look slightly swept back?

Glassed in Beam mounts with motor plates. Are those plates metal or fiber pads?

Fused relieved for side exhaust, seen that before.

What color is the fiberglass used in the Fuse? Green?

What’s the Fuse length? 51½ ?

Plane has retracts? Factory cut in? Fuse and Wing?

Are factory bulkheads installed in the fuse? Especially tying the nose area.

Do you have a picture of the fuse with the wing off? Inside Fuse?

I got an idea, maybe, especially if the glass in the fuse is green.

No way is that a Dirty Birdy! I don't think it is a Vertigo either. My guess is a IM Products
Corsair Acro Knight.

Steve, Thank you for the insight. I have found pictures of one of these and it fits it to a "T" right down to the flaps and how the wing is installed. Now my question is. I have weighed this as seen in my pics posted and it is right at 4lb ie.. no radio or engine.
What would you guys suggest as a good engine for this aircraft? I have a magnum pro .46 that matches the bolt pattern but not sure I want to use this since they dont seem to make this version anymore and I want to make sure this thing is powered properly. Im considering an OS .45AX. I would also like to make sure I choose an engine that will allow me to use a Mac products tuned pipe?

Nice Job Steve, I knew those were IM mounts on the rails but I just couldn’t place the airframe’s name. There was also a 60 version, Right? Remember Golden Gate?

My Vote goes to the .60NX it’s a 40 size case motor.

http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=EVOE0600

With Jett mini pipe
APC 10/8 15,100
APC 11/6 14,400

Say “Ballistic”

I haven’t been excited about a motor in years!

Paul beat me to it, so I will second that vote. Take a look at the 60NX. Besides the tuned muffler I think Horizon Hobby also carrys the Macs pre tuned pipe and header for that engine.

Paul, I don't remember a sixty size version, not saying they didnt make it just that I can't place it. Golden Gate Hobbies was great. Not only for all the trick hardware, but if you needed a special header for a certain model there was a good chance they carried it.

Thanks for the suggestion! I just looked at this motor today at the local hobby store and was going to post and ask if anyone used these and what their experience with them was. Thanks again

You’re going to like that 60NX.

Just a suggestion though, relocate the needle valve assembly back into the carb or if you prefer the remote need valve try relocating it to the firewall, but get it off the back plate.
