Mine is still in the white basecoat but with flakey, peeling paint...Someday, I'm going to sand it all off and apply some artists acrylic paint as I should have months ago...I used solvent based spray paint and it's not working at all...It didn't eat the foam but there's some type of chemical reaction taking place that is causing the paint to craze/crack/peel...

I bought a new airbrush and a new quiet air compressor...The new air compressor is so quiet you can use it indoors...It is the same type that you see airbrush artists use for T-shirts, etc...I learned the hard way that water based acrylic paint is best for foam...I'm an old automobile paint and body man that was used to automotive type paint...Although you CAN get solvent based paint to work at times on foam, it's NOT the best choice...Live and learn!!!

I hope to get my T-45 ready for some spring flying!!!

The back of the motor went away, but I still have it here. How can I put it back? Can I glue it?

The exact same thing happened to me and I posted in a thread and a Great Planes rep contacted me via pm and literally mailed me a brand new motor. I was shocked! Do you have the end cap? Or is it just gone?

Hi Dave,

I think my prop is unbalanced and I also have problems with my edf case. When testing, the edf has so much vibration. Do you remember that came to me two bigger ones? I am using that one you sent me.

When I cutted the prop, I donīt know if I cutted it so much and itīs unpowered. I have so much doubts and think Iīll give up.. if I send my hawk for you, you could test it to me Dave?

Hi Dave,

I took the so much trimmed prop away, and trimmed a brand new one. I tried to do not trimm so much this time and finished it right now. Take a look please, what do you think now? It really is longer than the other Iīve trimmed before and I think it was the reason it was underpowered...

My hawk needs to fly, why I canīt put it in the air? It will fly!

Hi friends,

As I changed the prop, I want to test it before the maiden. How much gr of thrust on 2s or 3s is needed to it fly properly?

Itīs important to say: after all repairs, itīs weighting

90gr with 2s
100 gr with 3s

Wow! 90g on 2S is too heavy Luis. Looks like it's 3S from here on in!

Hi Dave,

My hawk already broke the wing, the nose, fuse.. and, as you know, the glue, carbon rods adds weight.

Iīll use the 3S, itīs ready again here waiting for a good weather (zero wind and no rain).

I would like to know if this bae hawk could fly slowly like I saw in this video from the f86 sabre in the end of the video, before landing..

Great Planes 30mm EDF Micro F-86 Sabre from Hobbico (4 min 22 sec)
