I agreee that it will have to fly also but
it might be a trick to turn it right handed.
Or will it be left handed down under?
Do you guys use props that rotate
counterclockwise(from behind)?

The plane sure is pretty.

Are there any step by step manuals on how to build an ir reciever. And is there a problem with ir radiation, like you have to wear some wierd glasses?

The biggest problem is getting the two chips required the LTC-3200 and irlm mosfet in the RX. Iam stuck without it.

The IRLML2502 is easy enough to get, Farnell and Graham Stabler are just two sources.

The LTC3200 is also easy to get (Linear Technology) but s&h is $25.

Max1595 is replacement for LTC3200 and is available as free sample.

Have you flown the plane yet?
Does it turn good? I was just joking about the prop
rotating counterclockwise Down Under. I can see from
your photo that you have a normal prop. I am curious about the
large diameter prop. Wondering if it turns slow enough not to
generate too much torque. There was a discussion on FFML
recently about tourque rolls and some said the rubber acting on the rear hook generated the torque on the model. The discussion got pretty complicated and hard to follow so now I'm confused about big props and the effects they have on the flying. On my 3" rubber models decreasing rubber size(cross section) decreases torque rolls so maybe your prop is spinning slow enough.

Nice plane.

Billy,

The triplane is flying good. Though it could do with more thrust to overcome high drag during slow fight and manuvering. Increased rudder area for better turning and moved cg forward as it seemed a bit pitch sensitive.
Prop does not seem to effect it much at all, needs little side thrust. Have since fitted bit motor and 160mm prop, still no noticeable effect. Triplane has a fair bit of wing area.

5mm plastic bead used for adjustable pitch prop hub.

plugs


Great work David 8.5grams is realy getting down there, do you use plugs on your bat?, have you thought of these ie useing strip ic socket cut up as plugs the legs fit the socket so are male n female plug set
can use just 2 or if you want it pollarised to avoid disaster u can use a 3 pin with only the centre n 1 outside pin connected
