Pavel Bosak Mig 15


Ok,
I got this half kit from a ezoner , directly from Germany. This was a IDF plane made around 10-15 years ago. I like the tick wing for big retract to land on grass. The intake will be ~ scale .
Fan is a TJ 100 , 10 S 5000 mah XPS , Springair retract , 4 servos in the wings
, 2 servos for the stabs i for steering and maybe 2 more for gear doors .
So far: a fix the fuse and wet sanded, glass the wing with .75 glass , and i'm presently making the plug for intake.
Ok : wing are glassed and mixture of red filler and acetone brushed to fill any pin holes.
Cut former for tail , finish glass -carbon intake for TJ100. Redo the front intake to have room for retract.

Very nice JC !

I am red with envy that you were able to get a hold of this kit !!

So I suppose the kit does not come with any ducting ?

Looking forward to seeing lots of pictures of your build ... Have been lookimg forever for a nice MiG-15 kit ... the airworld one is just too big for edf.

Jet Frank did a split intake and I'm trying to do the same..not easy. So far so good. This way the model will look more scale and its room for the wheel in the front.
I'm not sure if i want to ad flap ,maybe.

I made a simple spar with 1/16 plywood and hard mapple. The spar will be glue and I will ad carbon tow in the top.
The wing will be cut after @ the wing fence. The par will be cut @ the wing root.

Not much today , I fill up the spar space with West Epoxy and laminate the gear mount with carbon fibre, and apply vacuum with my small CST pump.

You'r a funny guy Herb.... I have to admit I made a stupid mistake . I should cut the wing then make the spar
I will hide the mistake but to late.. I finish one wing with aileron , retract etc...
I will post more pic later.
The struts ..nice

little more work today...yes I have a family also
aileron is done...
I will use two Hitec 5125 for stab in the tail . I reversed one tonight will Hitec little programer ( nice toys)
I'm scratching my head for the mechanisme to open front doors , simple cord or two servos with small wire.....
For the spar mistake I find a good solution yeahh

Long process to do the wing. Finally I'm done with separation and all the whole for cables etc.
Finally I decide to ad the flaps, i have a feeling this Mig will land fast with out flap!. Thank you Maho for the left over!
I will use like the elevator two Hitec 5125 digital ( easy to reverse) no need to have more channel and matchbox.
I fitted the servos for elevator and I will ad the home made carbon spar in the rudder

Slowly the wing are done with control and landing support.
I finally glue the tail carbon spar with Aeropoxy.
Next is attach the root portion to the fuse and match the contour with Bondo.
Because I have two left wing I will have the delicate operation to send the right one to correct angle

Later, when half wing is part of the fuselage I will ad two doors with small servos

I thing this is the norm with this jet from Pavel. The strut: from a friend on RC Canada for $80 CA .
But let me check my bookmark and I will provide a link where to buy those in N.America.

Yesterday glue with carbon tow and Hysol the formers to support the fan: TJ 100. The fan is inserted from a hatch cut on the Mig belly. Will be to complicated from the front with the split intake
