Hi, I have a hobby cnc driver connected with a parallel cable to the PC. I have programmed a Arduino to output a 8000 clock. It is soldered in and there is a measured frequency on pin ten of 7.9956.
But the GMFC is not seeing this properly. Any ideas? BTW I am using a trial version of pro and XP. Edit: Problem found, parallel port does not seem to be working properly!! Are there any particular settings that I should be using with XP? Is there a driver issue? Looking at the driver under device manager there is an option for V1 old win driver or newer V2, which should I be using? thanks. |

You should be using V1. The problem is in the parallel port BIOS configuration. It should be EPP or ECP. This is is related to the connection of the parallel port interrupt. If the interrupt is not connected the driver does not start. Gilles |

Rading,
I checked the docs and there is no difference. All LCDs I am aware of have the same pinout. Gilles Quote:

Hi Gilles,
Thanks for your time, I just rewired the display as described in the GGC manual, and now it works. What threw me off and made me wire it differently, was that the PIN description in the GGC manual states that pin J2.9 to J2.11 was for the PD0, PD1 and PD2 function of the display. When I then looked at the datasheet for the display that I got, It looked like these functions were at Pin 7-9 and not 4-6 as described in the GGC Manual. But now it works, and I can start to build a case for the electronics. Once again, thanks for your help Gilles! /Rading |

Ex: Biggest advantage would be if you had an old board with a 4K Timer where the Min Time increments are 250. Or, a HobbyCNC board with an 8K Timer now the Min Time is 125. A GGCv2 can do 10K, 20K or 50K. Here the Increments are now 100, 50 & 20. Good so far? So you are tuning your motors going down with a 4K Timer, the next Increment of 250 is huge and the motors miss steps so you have to go back up. But, same machine maybe able to 100 or 50 Lower Min Time with out loosing steps, so you can sneak up on YOUR machines Max Speed. The rest of it depends on where you are now. If you have big motors, lots of voltage, higher pitch lead screws and already going fast or by chance already landed on the fastest Min Time then smoother motors is it. For someone with small motors, low voltage applied, high drag the difference can be quite nice. |

step and dir .. Marcos Google Translate does not always work very well. OK, you already have the MDLCNC Timer board but you do not know the Pin Out. This Timer board works with any controller that uses Pins 2-9. What you need to know is the Pin out of your controller. |

You could just try, same for a MDLCNC Board and see if it works. Same as Chinese Controllers. Você pode apenas tentar, mesmo para um Conselho MDLCNC e ver se funciona. Mesmo como controladores chineses. Motor 1 YL Step Pin 2 Dir Pin 3 Motor 2 XL Step Pin 4 Dir Pin 5 Motor 3 YR Step Pin 6 Dir Pin 7 Motor 4 XR Step Pin 8 Dir Pin 9 OR try MM2001 pin out YL step 3 Dir 2 XL Step 5 Dir 4 YR Step 7 Dir 6 XR Step 9 Dir 8 |
