Given the level of national interest and the feedback received on this forum and via email, this years Airborne Delivery challenge will be open to ALL Australia high schools.

Thank you

Thank you thank you thank you.
Look forward to seeing you in september.
It would be s great time to have people who are going/interested in organising/entering the state based comps in 2012 to have a meeting/forum/information session, so they can be as successful and well run as the Kingaroy event.

Last point when will the new rules be available - i assume there will be changes, there always is, especially after the 2.4 Ghz failsafe problem of last year.

thanks

Anyone flying?

Threads gone cold; just injecting some 'life' back into it. Hows the high school teams going? Anyone building, flying, or even crashing? Will there be a documentary challenge? Will the Gold Coast Suns win a game this year? (ok, that's uncalled for). Is the bad weather Australia wide or is only Queensland just copping it? We want to fly but its always raining.

The weather here in Canberra has been great for flying. Cool mornings, bright sun, no wind. The Canberra UAV (open) team had it's first autonomous flight on Sunday. Yeah!!!

The Dickson College UAV team is progressing well. We have be busy integrating autopilots (ardupilot) on to 10 monstor trucks. ( I know, that won't fly.) Our students are learning all about the sensors on the ardupilot (GPS, Gryo, accel, compass, pressure). They have been writing Arduino code that will get the data from the sensors, send it over an Xbee link and display it onto a ground station, that they have written in Visual Studio.

We are about 2 weeks away from connecting the truck servos up to the ardupilot to get some real autonomous mayhem. Once the trucks are navigating well, we will look at integrating the autopilots into the planes.

This weekend is the Dick Smith scale model rally. 175 really big planes at Dick Smiths residence (and airfiled) just outside Canberra. We will have a table there to explain the teams and the UAV OBC. Should be good.

I am still wating to hear of the details on the high school comp. Has anyone heard about dates, rules, etc?

Hi

Here at Riverton, we are on track. we have 3 pilots doing well in their training. the systems teams are just starting to decide on the components they will use and intergrate.

Would love to know the dates. It has been great flying weather down in SA, Hope not raining too much next week in Qld when I am up there.
