I priced up the same spec motor/ESC/ servos seperatly and cant get close to it including the kit @ 80...

Obviously if you used alternate motors/ESC it would be cheaper but for OE spec

was just about to preorder until i read the T&C's - i'll wait till a confirmed price is announced - have had confirmation from modelspot that is a CONFIRMED price that wont change.
I now have one on Pre-order

see the previous post dudes unfortunatly uk & 160
as I posted.. I tried to get equivilent hardware cheaper an come to the conclusion that the RR package is a pretty good price for the QUALITY gear your getting

For sure you can do it lots cheaper but would you want to ??

yup but IMO also easily repairable piece of foam.

EPO v's Balsa .. I'll take the foam cos I still crash on occasion.

But you did get me thinking about RTF kits balsa I did a quick search ..
http://www.swdistribution.co.uk/inde...&area=Aircraft
100 + the cost of RX /battery/servos (plus a half decent BL if you want one).. getting close to the same as the dogfighter but less "crashability"

On the other hand if I wanted a cheap foamy I'd head over to the scratch build section 'n make a SEMFF KF warbird.

That's what I love about the hobby, there's something for almost everyone out there. Go take ya pick

Anyway, the cost of the foam is a pretty minor part of the ready-to-fly cost of a foamy. Of course, all the gear that goes into it has its cost. And for the molded airframe, the cost of the tooling, engineering and staff is way above the cost of raw materials.

Nice! I do hope someone got the Dogfighter on video at SEFF. Flite Test show the Dogfighter in their SEFF teaser video, so maybe there is more to follow.
It can't be so fast that nobody is getting it "on film" ;-)

True, I got a preview of the next SEFF video, and they show it flying a few times. As well as a fairly substantial talk with the Hitec/Multiplex rep.

Here is some DogFighter Footage shot at the SEFF event a few weeks ago. I personally flew it and a blast. This is going to be a fun pylon racer! We even got her up to 113 mph on a level pass with the standard power pack setup!
