good fun today

We had about the same conditions 10mph average 12mph gusts. Lewis, lil-Lewis, Carlos and I were all there. Had some good combat, and then loaded the Monarchs to about 15oz and had some imaginary pylon racing and half-piping. Lotsa fun can't wait to do it again !!

That sign is over in Redondo Beach at the slope I learned to fly at. It is actually legal to fly there. We will have to host a fly in there this summer.

Think of it is a reminder to all that our glider sites can be taken away if we do not police our own people.

I grew up in Torrance. I was never aware of any flying in Redondo. Where was it?

It was known as the avenues. I think it was between Avenue B & C. Somewhere in that area. Just look for the sign that looks just like my avatar. You can actually fly there, but they have a low weight limit. Not sure what that weight limit is. Need to check.

Some bone head hit a lady on the bicycle path, didn't apologize just said she should watch out. It happened to be somebody on the city counsel, people use to fly lead sleds on ballistic days there probably not a bad idea to shut down that spot. Ian

That is about the same story I heard.

I have to comment on "lead sleds" flying there though.. You could barely fly a light PSS there on a fair day, needless to say, lead sleds could not fly there. Especially after they put the fence on the slope face. That fence killed the lift, and spelled the end to that flying site.

Looks like tomorrow (Wednesday) will be a reaaaally good flying day. 20mph SW. I think I'll take some glass ships up to Top of the World and toss 'em off!

Anybody wanna join me? I'll probably be up there after about 2pm-ish.

In San Clemente at work, and the winds look pretty good already. Even a bit of sun popping through.

Yeah it's a little more cludy but looking out on the horizon I don't see any rain clouds. If it just stays cloudy, I may head up !

I just woke up, a little later than I wanted to But that's OK, because it's still raining.

Top of the World is showing 15+mph West, now we just need the rain/fog to lift.

I didn't fly today. I woke up late, and since it was rainy I decided to do some cleaning up in the shop. I can see one of my workbenches now! Now I just need to clean up the second bench, and then I'll have room to cut some foam cores.

I think my next project will be the Me-262 that's been sitting patiently for about a year.
