Thanks Rick, it kind of poped up on me this time and I haven't confirmed my kitchen pass yet and don't know if I do I'm not sure if I will have Sean with me or not. If I can go and I don't have Sean I will still bring the table unless Wayne doesn't want it. I figured it might be something he could use and wouldn't mind keeping, but if it's just in the way I'll keep it.

No problem, if you can bring it fine if not Iet me know. Wayne cannot keep mine or my wife would kill me, borrowing is ok with her but it must come home.

What's the "theme" of build night this month? Did I hear something about Goop?

Goop, Goop, did I hear someone say goop. I am all gooped out from putting on the trailing edge for my Monarch. Need to learn how to thin it out

Rick and everybody:
I have enough thinner for 10 planes so I plan to bring it down. Please take some before it evaporates;-)

Rick if you can, bring a small jar that seals tight. It should last in there.
By the way, I just turned off our phone service. We've been trying out a "Magic Jack" for awhile and it works great. 20.00 a year for a land line! I'm stoked
That will pay for a plane or two.

Y'know... we could have a clean-up party at my workshop. Any volunteers?

I can barely even reach my workbench.

Sounds like my garage/ workshop. I keep the garage door down so my neighbors don't tip off the producers of that show, "Hoarders"!
My wife recently told me she wants to clear it out and make it into a family room. HAHAHAHA!

I've said it before, I can come over with my truck empty, and make all kinds of room for you in your shop. : ) See you guys Thursday. If I get some silver Solartex, I'll bring the 109.

It just hit me that I am much better at asking questions then actually getting any building done I do greatly appreciate the help and know I couldn't get half the stuff I do actually get done without it. Anyways, I'm a bit ashamed to post these next questions as it will reveal how much I have progressed on my Mamba build, but...

1) How long should the elevons be? The stock I got with the blem kit is 2 1/4" wide on one end and a pinch over 1 3/4 wide on the other and measured 24" long. The length needs to be shortened to fit the wing and I don't know which end to hack off nor by how much, let alone which end goes in the center and which towards the tip (I'm guessing the wider end goes towards the tip)

2) Should the fin mount block be trimmed even with the sub trailing edge?

3) Does the LE need to be sanded round? It appears a bit sharp. Is it a custom foil or is there a cross section I can look at to compare?

-Jonathan
at least a building machine in mind and spirit (any guesses on what I'm bringing to the build party if I can make it?)

So Tom, I'm thinking about making a new horizontal stab. for my Genesis mouldie. I'm thinking about glassing or solartexing a shaped piece of foam or balsa. What would work best?

Might take a few months but Wayne might be able to get a replacement.

Johmathan, to answer your questions:

Leave the tips of the elevons as they are, but trim the elevons where they meet the center so that there is a gap large enough to fit your fingers for launching.

Yes sand the fin block flush

Yes leave the LE sharp. When you tape/cover it it'll round it out just right.

Now get to work !!
