Tom, a pleasure to have you back!

I think the first few flights are always the most magical!

-Wayne

p.s. I live way down in Irvine and still trek up to PV from time to time. For those of you that have not yet flown some of the PV sites, you are missing out!

Hi U-all,

I started sloping in the early 70's (yes I am a boomer), I was lucky to grow up in Westchester and Play del Rey, and the best spot was Hughes Hill which overlooked Hughes Aircraft, and was next to Loyola College. This sight is the best I have ever flown at! The landing area was large and level, and it even had a north slope as well as a west slope. I haven't been back there in many years, and I am sure it has homes built there, but someday I will go back. When I started out I built a glider and waited till all the experienced pilots left for the day just before sunset, and I ran out and threw it off, and watched it crash. I think I built and destroyed 3 gliders before I got up enough nerve to ask for help. I met a nice older guy and we became good friends. We went all over Socal flying together, from Snake Hill, San Bernardino, to Torrey Pines. We had great times together. I like slope racers the most, but I have flown large scale thermal planes also. I have been out of the sport for almost 20 years, and just recently dug out an old Coyote wing with a fuse a made years ago, and decided to fly again. I usually go to a spot I know in Palos Verdes, that few people know about. Even thow I now live in Garden Grove, this is a cool spot. I recently discovered RC Groups and bought a SR7 and a Avocet, from the classifides. This is great site, and I hope to make some friends here. Like a previous note, the sport has changed, and is much more expensive that I remember, and I will have to be carefull as it is addicting!

Pics right after I take some!

Wonder if I can build one REALLY fast for the weekend... and work on web site, and work on other products, and look at houses, and maintain some level of a relationship with Jane... AHHH! Yeah, this day job is really getting in the way.

Sweet! Those bargains are hard to resist!

We were thinking of starting up a Speedo man on man race series. Be a nice little one design racer. Darn near everyone has one, and they are pretty darn cheap.

I don't have one, yet, but I'd definitely be interested in a speedo MOM race.
It would a much more sensible place to start than the acacia...

I picked up an Acacia 2 for racing this summer. Love it! You're definitely gonna have to race next year, Dave!

Hey, don't you also have one of those little Zaerotech Z22 twisty wings, too? I finally maidened mine a couple weeks ago.
