With that monster motor you plan to drop in there a 70 mm would not be out of the question. My question is, have you figured out where to load up 9s 2p on the battery packs yet?

I can easily fit six 5000 3s batts in the cockpit..............that would be 9s2p!

Here's a pic of a 5800 3s in there, with about 8" of room still in front of it.

and a pic of the Canopy on my 31" x 9" wide Villain

Lots more room in yours for putting the "heavy stuff" forward. That just might work out well for you scorp.
Looks like the Villian got tipsy and tried to wear a lampshade for a hat.

The 1/4 cable is actually a 6.3mm. The only problem is the 8mm shaft:

Look at the drawing, it could be milled down to 5mm, just check your length.

Modded the gas tank area, and it now fits four 3s 5000's perfectly by removing just a couple pieces of ply. The other two batts will go up in front of it in the nose of the cockpit.

Also added some epoxy to the stringers(which were already well attatched) and a few other areas that needed more or didnt have any at all.

Threw on some stripes to liven up all the red...............

Motor has been ordered and should be here Friday, got the material to make my own cooling jacket already.

Been busy with alot of other stuff...............

I have my cart full at OSE with lots of goodies, just making sure i didnt miss anything while ordering, gonna check out today.

Any more prop thoughts anyone?

I put an x457/3 in the cart, and now they are sold out. Maybe need to get a 455 for maiden run, which is a couple weeks off..........then try the 66mm stocker..........

Correct me if I'm wrong...........

Been reading up about the "Zenoah" type engines, and have found that the 23-26cc engines are running around 10,000 rpms max........and putting out around 1.75-2.5 hp. SO.........with the big 2028 motor putting out in the 5-8 hp range based on my research, I think a big 78mm "gas" prop would be a bit too much...........my "honed down" to 66m prop may fit the bill as the motor obviously has twice the power, but will also be turning it at twice the rpms.

Thoughts?

Some of the hotter gas motors are running closer to around 17000.
As a thought you could try 8s 2p opposed to the 9s 2p and spin a honker prop (with still more rpms than a gasser). Got 4 good 4s packs laying around to try?

I suppose finding or deciding on a starting config is a problem. What to do. Do you have one of those watts up meter's that baz owns and uses.

I can see lots a testing with this monster. Scorp your setting the benchmark for anyone else who builds a monster like this
