A Day at dog Beach with the Raider Boys

Okay I know...why in the world am I flying if I'm supposed to be building? Hey, I needed the fix

Besides, headed to Irvine to drop by my apartment and turn in some job apps in Newport and Irvine Spectrum...brought my newly recovered and equipped with goldenrod pushrods XR. Had an Awesome time flying with a couple of the wingwarrior guys and others who showed up...ended up being 4 Raiders and my lowly XR...and man did we have fun.
The story begins...

as usual there were uite a few stopers by asking questions/being interested...had one of them take a few pics of Steve's, Chris' and my wings...that's my lowly head in the foreground

All in All I had a good time. had some wonderful midairs, fun formation flying, half pipes (although I couldn't keep up half the time..she still need some re-dialing in) and some aerobatics shows for the beachgoers..my purdy XR is now uhh homely looking again.
Yes its blasphemy (sorry Mark Wood!) but I'll be getting a Ridge Runner or Raider/Thruster for a replacement one of these days

Now Back to building!

Cool pics Raymund. Were you flying at dog beach? I got to get out there one of these days with my ugly raider.

No worries, Ray. Next wing for me will likely be a Raider. The XR gives the Raider gang fits on a good day, though.

Previously plasmasb...
You five spar flying wings should not under estimate the power of our 4oz weasels. hah. Its an all to common story to see these massive wings go down by the hit of a mini weasel. oh, so much fun.

I came THIS close <holding fingers an inch apart> to grounding Mr. Woods XR "Combat" wing with my Mini-Weasel....That was the funniest thing I've ever seen at the slope. It was like a fly attacking a dog....

Closely followed by that time you hammered Johnnys Zipper 1/4 of a second after he launched it.

AeroD79,

Dog Beach is just past Golden West (going North) off PCH; ie the Huntington Beach area. Best way to know is when you see a wing in the air, you'll be there You'll be hanging a left, again if going northbound, into a parking area. park and fly...landmarks for the flying spot...a couple of porta-potties on your left behind the steel fence, and a yellow sign down to the right right near the lip of the slope, and a nice little bowl in front of you..the couple of last parking spots should be behind and slightly to the right....lol wow what a set of directions
hope this helps

Godspeed and see you on the flipside,
Ray
