In this case, look elsewhere, Jeti told someone these days the production will start in October. I think you can find this message searching for "We want to start production on 10/2011"

This is absolutely not true!

To pass appropriate tests in Europe for conformity declaration and CE is just like filling out a sheet of paper by the vendor!
Any company can do and "document" required "tests" inhouse or do tests by a "vendor friendly" test lab.
In contrast FCC test procedures are a real hurdle for any vendor.

Professional idiot
Which is why CE testing to get DSM2 JR sets sold in the UK cost a fortune in testing and redesign.

Stuff can pass FCC and fail CE and vice versa.

A lot of CE certification is self certification but it still has to be compliant otherwise you can get in a lot of trouble.

Because Spektrum was out of any law in any part of this world since summer 2008, with deadline october this year to become legal, that's why they issued DSMX, not for customer satisfaction.
A significant difference between FCC and CE is the visibility of technical test details. FCC are public, unlike CE.

Have you ever been involved in RTTE testing for the CE marking of radio equipment?

What I'm stating is my own experience, maybe there are some labs (RTTE notified bodies) that will issue dummy certificates - I don't know any.

What I do know is that it is a great pain in the back to get the spurious emissions below fixed limits, regardless of the tx power. To be compliant, you must do the RF design (including antenna) very carefully - believe me, it's not easy.

US standards are less stringent in these areas, thus my previous statement.

I know that anyone can attach a "CE" sticker (engineering joke is that it's an abbreviation of "chinese exports"), but if you want to be compliant - fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a bumpy ride.

A very nice pretty TX with lots of features and I would be the envy of the flying field I'm sure, but for me it would be overkill and I cannot justify the expense.
I have a 9ch TX and I dont even use 10% of the features on that one! lol

On my very old OS "singing" transmitter I played six notes: left, right, up, down, faster, slower... that was a six channel transmitter...

Looks like a nice bit o kit as they say.
Except for the 20 year old mono display.
Oh well,I suppose one should be watching their AC,not the Tx.

Would you make a similar comment about the Amazon Kindle? Tell me what advantage a colour display offers for either product?

Renault Megane Sport Tourer Commercial (0 min 31 sec)

-Excuse me, but.. do You actually need this XXXX? -No. But I WANT IT.
:-)
As for colour displays - just try flying outside in a sunny day. Use colour mobile phone screen to compare.
(Edit: yes the colour one needs strong backlight to be somehow readable. And any backlight would waste battery)

I find that a good monochrome display holds up far better in the sun that pretty much anything color . . . . or was that your point?
