Rodger,

Thanks for the kind words. So far I have been lucky and with great help here it has kept the builds moving. Your right about the Tiger it is more difficult than I first thought when planning the build. Always learning.

She really is starting to look like a product of the Long Island Iron Works (Grumman). I always thought the Tiger was a beautiful aircraft that just never could find the right engine, if they had managed to get the j57 in it they might have stood a chance.......

true that ...that happened a lot back in those days ...the airframes were ahead of the engines

Yeah, so many airframes in all eras of flight had that problem. Imagine how good the P-38 would have performed with Merlins.

Cool project, you have a lot of patience.

Looks real nice Jeff.

I see markings all over the fuse, is that for fan, battery hatches?

P-38 did pretty well on the Alisons though! There is always that what if, what is they had got the turbo-supercharger in the P-39, etc.

There is a guy in Australia who has built a beautiful model of the U.S.S Long Beach (CGN-9) in kind of a 'what if' refit and if they had ever built her like she would have been really nasty in combat.

Julian,

Back when I had the bulkheads not secured on the carbon rods I would fit them in the fuse halves and invision where all of the component would be and strike a line. The split fuse idea came from watching Rodgers Draken build. I also remember it being a challenge for him. I really thought this build would be easer that it has but I do have to make up it up along the way. It might be better to do a top-bottom fuse instead of a side-side.

This is like a great book you never want to put down only to find it's not finished. How is the build coming along? I've been doing my research on all these builds and taking what can from where ever I can. Your idea about doing top and bottom halves of the fuse has me thinking and I think it might be a lot easier. I could go on about the things I've found useful in your build but I'll just say that I am watching intently and have gleaned much.

Hi Jeff,
missed you at E-Jets this year. Richard said to say hi.

Easytiger has a midi F-11 Tiger coming. Curtis said it should be out around November should you decide to skip the rest of the hard work and go the easy route.

Hay Dan and Rodger,
Thatís interesting that Easytiger is doing this one. I hope they can make a good design on this one. The more I have studied the F-11 the more I think it resembles some of the popular sport jet designs. I like it !!!

I have stalled on my build for now but did get the gear door hinges on and I think I will be able to get them to fit up ok.

Family things have taken up all of my time and energy. My wife and I are taking care all of her mother household affairs and you might know my folks are having health issues also. So it feels like we are taking care of 2 Ĺ households. On the bright side our kids are doing great.

I will be back on it this winter.
