Whew

Thanks Heli Biggie,

I got to thinking about the blades. From a visual they seem to track perfectly. I still think the stock servos need to go. I have the fusonics just haven't had time to install them. My swash is a mess too. It is level but at 0 stick the pitch servo is 90 degrees and the aile. and elev. are at about 95 to 100 degrees. The rods have been adjusted to level the swash but I believe this will make for a sloppy fly once the throttle is increased. Once I install the fusonics I will center the servo horns and level the swash accordingly.

Im new to this so I don't think so. I just unplug the motors and put the stick to 50%. How do I get to adj mode for the 2801pro.

Adjust mode is a little switch on the rx unit. It simply turns of the gyros. Dont forget to flip it back to the wrk position when your done adjusting. Or you'll end up flying like xseeker....

Just a quick update for the guys on this thread.

600 crashed, 500 now has 13 trouble free flights, and the SuperV400 is still flying great. Been doing alot of inverted ff, rolls, tail in inverted hover, and nose in back flip to tail in inverted hover. I'm now comfortable hovering inverted around one foot off the ground.

I've been watching some youtube vids of the mini cp, and i'm very impressed with its ability to crash and continue flying. Now that i'm doing more 3d type flying, i think it would be a great practice tool. Much better than a sim because its 'real'. This may also mean that i'll be crossing over into devo land...

Does adjusting the swash have to be done in adj mode or can one leave the rx in wrk mode? After I install the fusonics I will need to get the swash just right.

Thanks,

Why dont you guys just e-mail me a RMA number so i can send this board back ?? Do you know how frustrating it is to jump through your hoops only to be blocked at every turn ? Also the order number for this is gone, it does not show up in the drop down box or in my order history.

Thanks for contacting the HobbyKing Support Team.

Sorry about this but its absolutely essential that the system generates an RMA so that you items does not get lost. I have expedited you case with my manager and we will be in touch with an update as it becomes available.

Thanks for contacting the HobbyKing Support Team.

We have confirmed that the system is working. Please be advised to turn off your pop-up blocker in your internet settings and try again. Also you could try to log-on from a friends computer

I have turned off popup blocker, and i have restarted web browser.still get thae same message when i hit the SUBMIT button to get a RMA number.. Can it be because the order number is not in the drop down box where it says ORDER ID.. It wont let me type in the order number as it is a drop down and my other two orders are in there but not this one ..
No popup blockers on.

Tired of jumping thru hoops for these guys !!
A main is the best...period. They are the model of what a hobby company should be. They may not have as large a selection of the more affordable electronics and batteries as compared to hobbyking and hobbypartz, but they get their stuff out the door quick and have great customer service. I would pay $5 more for something from them vs hobbyking any day.

That's the thing that sucks for us hobbyists, we have to deal with lousy customer service to get more affordable parts. I wish there was an in between, customer service of A main + selection and prices of hobbyking = best hobby store ever.

I got you. Its the #1 switch on the rx. How do i get my servos arms to be at 90 when im at 50% stick. use subtrim? there at about 95 when at 50% stick, at 55 to60% there at 90.

I have the mini cp and love it. I fly if the winds outside make me uncomfortable or when I am charging batteries for the v400. It is a blast to fly. I am down to all orientations with the exception of nose in hover. Once I get that down I am going inverted. I have had a few soft crashes in the grass with NO damage. Also, the little thing handles wind very good.

to get 90° on the servos horns,

in adj mode, get your pitch at 50%. If a servo horn is not at 90°, or pretty close, take it off and reset it as close to 90° as you can. If its a little off, you can fix that with sub-trim or the length of the link rod.

I'm finding with 3axis gyros that it may be better to not use subtrim. It may cause gyro to overshoot or undershoot when trying to return to balance position. This is only my opinion cause i dont know how walkera, or any other gyro programers program their gyros.

Thanks,
For the best results, you have to switch the receiver into adjust mode to turn off the gyros, otherwise they will be tilting the swash all the while you are trying to adjust things. Once in adj mode with the rx bound to the tx, put the stick to 50%(motors disconnected, of course). At this point, you will most likely need to remove the servo arms from the servos and then assemble them again with the arms as close as possible to 90-degrees. Next, you will need to adjust the lengths of the servo arms to level the swash, and you'll also want the swash to be positioned in the middle of it's up/down path of the travel along the main shaft.

Once the swash is level, you will need to adjust the grip links so that both blades have a blade pitch of 0-degrees. After this step comes the pitch curve--you'll want to adjust it according to the performance you want.

Once you are confident that everything is set up correctly, you will need to switch the receiver back to work (WK) mode and then give the heli a test hover. While hovering, I like to check out the tips of the blades to see if the tracking is good. If the tracking is off, you'll have to adjust the grip links accordingly.

This is a quick & dirty explanation of the method that I have used on my V400 and my 450 Pro clone, with good results in both cases.

So far, I have not had good results using subtrim. In the case of the V400, it seemed to run rougher and burn through batteries more quickly. With the 450, the swash just didn't seem to hold it's level position, no matter how well I leveled the swash. Very frustrating, and it made me lose faith in using subtrim.

I found when i had subtrim on the elevator servo of my 500 w/2702v, it would cause bobbing if in forward flight when you put elev in its netural position and the gyro ballance kicks in. Now that i've made the adjustments to cancel the subtrim, the bobbing is gone.

I can vouch for the crashworthyness of the minicp, i've certainly put it to the test Only replaced 2 tail booms in roughly 30 crashes, some into the fence but most softer on the grass. Here is a video of me not crashing, haha

minicp inverted practice.MP4 (3 min 24 sec)
