I just love this design. Just great. I would certainly try to integrate Ardupirate HW
Do you have ETA oninterior, landing gear and Gopro support?

Thx

tnx, I am also waiting for ardu parts to try

landing gear (FPV box) molds will be completed in one month approx...

I could finish a lot faster, but orders are stopping me

the quality of this frame is exactly as i hoped! also the hull is larger then i thought! also the separate piece arms make for good easy crash repair! top quality dex! here the pics when i received it.

Cool.
Any more news on the gopro mount, interior mount and landing gear?
Will it be possible to order spare arms?

Only a few more days and the FPV box will be ready for production

I broke my brain on that piece...
2 attempts were gone in the wrong direction, a lot of curves and hollows, 4 piece mold, etc.

I was not very satisfied

So the third time I made a simple and clean design and now I'm very pleased with the look and dimensions(2 liter box)

the prototype is finished, On Wednesday I will have the first cast,
will try it out on my FPV model immediately and I'll put a pictures on the forum

yes, it is possible to order all spare parts

Controller Mounting

Dex,

I have a question/concern.

Currently on my quad, my controller with all sensors is mounted at the CG, specifically for the acceleromater sensors which need to be as close to the CG as possible. Also, with the battery really needing to be close to the CG as well, im wondering how "do-able" that is inside the fuselage?

Would there be enough vertical clearance inside the frame to mount the controller below the battery, both in the center of the pod?

Another question, what are the arms/body made of? I went through the thread and I dont think I saw anything about what they are made of. My concern is replacing a broken arm, will I have to order from you replacement arms or is it something I can purchase locally?

Thanks!
M

Oh, and the frame looks awesome!

I just pulled out from the oven first cast, 135g bare weight

here is very late, passed 4 hours in the morning and I worked 18 hours in piece
I'm barely watching the monitor

only briefly....

lid opening is 135mm diameter, quad pod diameter is 170mm,
200mm is diameter from the beginning of the tube to the beginning of opposite tube

inner height of pod( thickness from the bottom of the pod to the inner top of the
lid) is exactly 73mm

whole model is made from composite materials, 100% glass fiber and epoxy resin
tubes also, 4 piece tube set is 1/10 of the total model cost...

tube dimensions:
inner diameter 20,5mm
wall thickness 0,5mm
10cm tube has 6 grams

FPV box dimensions:
diameter 170mm
height 90mm, but overlaps with the pod, so it turns out 67mm inner height of the box...
when you cut the bottom of the pod, and glue the box on the pod It turns out exactly 140mm inner height
and total volume of about 3 liters

I'll put pictures as soon as I wake up and answer the rest of what I forgot

How small do you think you can make one using the standard center pod? Wondering if you can make the arms short enough to just hold the motor mounts to the center.

Think you can get it down to 12" motor to motor? 10"?

if you go in the extreme cutting you could reduce to 30cm shaft to shaft without a problem...
I measured, less than that is not possible
