String,
Very nice little boat. I will have to plan one in my budget for summer. Racing Version of course. :0

Great job putting her together and letting my take the helm for a bit.

Sailing......

Thanks 5353bilboat and jpparisy for the tips. Don't mind them at all. Keep um coming.

Sailing today, she sailed great. Not twitchy at all just very responsive and she did great in the strong winds and waves we had . Let all the other quys try it and they all liked it very much. Amazed at how a small boat could handle so well. Now I just need to talk them all into one. (one is building his now) I can put it the front passenger seat of my mini SUV!!!! Very impressed with this little guy

Nice work for sure. I am on trail of a boat I would like to add to my fleet. Once I get that nailed down, it will be "magic" time.

Topping lift

Found these on the UK site. Will rig a Topping lift line and work on my curves and slot.

The picture of the twist is Mike's boat from Great Britain. The mm2s don't run spreaders or side stays and they mostly replace the stock masts with a Skyshark mast which is made in the US. It is not as bendy as the stock unit. As far as bowsies are concerned many just use the stock hardware or aquarium tubing to control adjustments. The only bowsies I used were for the jib attachment and the topping lift. For outhauls I have used plumbing washers or aquarium tubing.

I stand corrected--I do use a bowsie on my backstay. Didn't mean to hi-jack your post and I agree the understanding of the "jargon" is crucial. Are you able to sail where you are yet or is the water still too hard? We are still a good month away from liquid again. Last year we were racing in March but this year is much colder. Cheers Bill.
