Very nice Matt!
Whose kit or plans was it? I have a Ziroli short kit waiting for me in the attic someday.

Matt,
Your Hellcat is absolutely gorgeous. I'm very impressed with the quality of your workmanship. I have been using Krylon Rattle cans now for a while but never to the extent that you are doing. I have a question for you. What are you spraying over your colors to make them fuel proof? On my Dag Gt that I'm finishing I sprayed the wheel pants with Krylon but need to fuelproof them so the fuel doesn't destroy the finish.
Thank you very much.

Pete,

I have used LusterKote spray clear over Krylon with great success. (For small projects) Just make sure your Krylon has completely dried give it a day or so.

I use Ultra System clear coats comes in gloss and flat. (Sherwin Williams automotive.)

Good luck and feel free to contact me...

Matt,
Thank you for the info on the Lustercote clear. I will definitely give it a try. I have one of the Hanger 9 Hellcats and mine looks like a toy compaired to yours. You did an outstanding job on yours.

Nasty day out
Not a good day to paint so....
I made a master Cylinder out of a Williams Brothers 1/6 scale J-5 cylinder. It is not exact but very close This is the before and after photo. I will make a mold out of RTV this evening when UPS gets here. Then we can make as many as we need. I am also working on a crankcase and exhaust. Slow but sure Come on weather give me a break!

Cheers,
Matt

Matt...one word..'Immaculate'

That not only goes for your superb PCA-2 but all your other models too!

You say your dummy engine cylinders are being moulded from RTV? what is that?

Not too far off now

Awesome Matt!!! That looks a lot better than what I was ending up with. I got hung up with the fins on the exhaust side. I think cutting down the rocker boxes a bit and angling them will do the trick.

I don't know if you have a way to chuck the cylinder in a lathe but the bottom fins are all but gone on the full scale.

Are you using the stock cranckcase from WB or have you made your own? I was going to make the exhaust collector ring but I wasn't sure what diameter to use.

Make sure you make that mold strong enough to make a couple dozen cylinders!! I'm gonna need 9 just for me!

I know what it took to get your cylinder to that stage and I applaud you!! Great work!

I thought I'd throw in some pics I've gathered.

Thanks for the kind comments guys,

Don,

Those bottom fins are small I had no idea. The valve covers are the ones from the J-5 cylinder not even close when I see the photos you sent Oh well close enough.

When I make the mold I think I am going to cast them solid. One to save time and two it sounds like we need the weight.

Rich,
RTV-(Room-Temperature Vulcanizing) It is a type of silicone rubber to make molds out of.

More in the morning,

Matt
